Hydropower plants under EVN and Power Generation Corporations in the storm-affected areas are still operating safely. As of 7:00 a.m. on October 2, 19 hydropower reservoirs have been regulating discharge. Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant has completely closed its deep discharge since 11:00 a.m. on October 1; while Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant still maintains its 6 deep discharge gates open.

On the transmission system, the National Power Transmission Corporation and power units have restored 14/17 incidents on the 500 kV grid, 24/24 incidents on the 220 kV grid and 68/73 incidents on the 110 kV grid.

With great efforts, by the morning of October 2, the Northern and Central Power Corporations had restored power supply to more than 3.58 million customers out of a total of 4.12 million customers interrupted by the storm, reaching a rate of nearly 87%.

Some severely affected localities have recorded significant recovery rates: Thanh Hoa reached 93%, Nghe An 69%, Ha Tinh 70%, Quang Tri 99%. On October 2, Quang Tri will have its power supply completely restored, while in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, it is expected that by October 6, the recovery will be basically completed in all areas.

To speed up the progress, the Northern Power Corporation and the Central Power Corporation have mobilized about 2,400 officers, workers and many vehicles, not only from local units but also from other units, to focus on supporting incident handling and restoring power supply.
