Huy Khanh reveals the reason for returning to the theater stage after more than 10 years

After more than 10 years, Huy Khanh has returned to the theater stage to participate in the play 'Sugar-Coated Bullet', preparing for the 5th National Professional Theater Festival on the image of the People's Public Security soldier - 2025.

In the play Sugar-Coated Bullet , Huy Khanh portrays the image of an official - provincial chairman Le Minh Tri, who once had noble ideals with the aspiration to develop a civilized city and a prosperous life, but then quickly fell, compromising with the wrong things causing serious consequences.

Sharing with Thanh Nien , Huy Khanh said that it had been more than 10 years since he participated in theatrical activities, so when a younger brother invited him to participate in the play Sugar-Coated Bullet - a play that will participate in the National Professional Theater Festival (taking place in Hanoi from July 4 to July 7), celebrating the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security tradition, a very meaningful occasion, the actor accepted.

Huy Khanh revealed that it has been more than 10 years since he returned to the theater stage.

"Actually, acting in plays is much more difficult than acting in movies and takes a lot of time to practice. A play takes a whole month to rehearse and then it is performed many nights, every week on stage. That is the reason why I stopped acting for many years because I was always filming. I came back this time to support young people. At first I was very confused, but then I felt more confident."

Huy Khanh used to act in plays at many stages such as Stage 5B, Idecaf Drama Theatre, and competed and won medals. But then he prioritized acting in films so he temporarily stopped his theatrical activities.

At this year's festival, Ho Chi Minh City has 4 plays participating. In addition to The Sugar-Coated Bullet, there are Another War, Deep in the Night, and Emotional Reunion.
