Israeli airstrikes kill Hamas and Palestinian leaders in Lebanon

Công LuậnCông Luận30/09/2024

Hamas said its leader in Lebanon, Fateh Sherif Abu el-Amin, was killed along with his wife, son and daughter in an air strike on their home in a refugee camp in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre early on September 30.

Another group, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), said three of its leaders were killed in an airstrike on Beirut's Kola district, the first Israeli airstrike on central Beirut in nearly a year of conflict.

Witnesses said the attack on the PFLP took place on the upper floor of an apartment building. The Israeli military has yet to comment.

The assassinations are the latest in a two-week wave of Israeli attacks on targets in Lebanon, showing that Israel has no intention of slowing down its attacks on multiple fronts even after eliminating Hezbollah leader Nasrallah.

Lebanon's health ministry says more than 1,000 Lebanese have been killed and 6,000 injured in the past two weeks. One million people, or 20% of the population, have been forced to flee their homes.

Israel also carried out airstrikes on dozens of targets against Houthi militias in Yemen on September 29. Yemen's Houthi-run health ministry said at least four people were killed in airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah, which Israel said was in response to Houthi missile attacks.
