Regarding the report of spoiled meat and eggs being brought into the kitchen of Cu Khe Primary School (Binh Minh Commune, Hanoi ), the Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene coordinated with the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to inspect food safety at the school's collective kitchen.

The school's food supplier is Nhat Anh Import Export Trading and Service Company Limited, which cooks directly at the school.

On October 17, after inspection, the Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene reported and verified the information reflecting the incident.

Accordingly, the Department recorded the following problems: Flies appeared in the school's preliminary processing and preparation area; the cooking and serving area was located together with the washing area, which could lead to cross-contamination between raw and cooked food; the drainage system in the processing area was not sealed, stagnant, and had a foul odor; the 3-step food inspection was not performed on October 16; there were not enough food dividing tables (there were only two small stainless steel tables to divide food for 1,450 meals).

During the inspection, Nhat Anh Import Export Trading and Service Company Limited presented its business registration certificate, certificate of food safety eligibility, documents proving the origin of food (Canh Nau Cooperative), domestic water test certificate (the school uses water provided by Nhat Phat Investment Limited Company); invoice for direct purchase of drinking water for students (Lavie bottled drinking water).

The Hanoi Department of Food Safety and Hygiene requested Binh Minh commune to strictly control the implementation of food safety regulations in the organization of meals for boarding students at Cu Khe Primary School (in particular) and schools in Binh Minh commune (in general).

Suppliers are only allowed to operate when they ensure full compliance with food safety regulations; proactively and regularly control the traceability of the origin and food ingredients supplied and used in school kitchens; strictly handle food safety violations (if any); have plans to replace suppliers that do not meet the conditions according to Instruction 02/HD-BCĐ and promptly report to the Hanoi People's Committee.

On October 17, Cu Khe Primary School sent a notice to parents about the temporary suspension of providing meals for boarding students. The school will work with the catering unit to overcome the problem and provide meals for boarding students from October 20.

Regarding the information reflecting that food with a rancid smell was brought into the canteen of Cu Khe Primary School, Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha directed the People's Committee of Binh Minh Commune to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to inspect and clarify. Ms. Vu Thu Ha also requested to strictly handle violations (if any) and report to the City People's Committee before October 18.

Previously, on the morning of October 15, after supervising the food reception at Cu Khe Primary School, information appeared on the school's parent groups that the food source provided to the boarding kitchen was not of guaranteed quality. Specifically, quail eggs and some meat on the transport vehicle had a strange smell, while some of the preparation tools in the kitchen were rusty and moldy.

This information quickly spread, causing many parents whose children attend the school to worry about the quality of the students' meals.
