The festival continues to affirm the capital's efforts in bringing ca tru out of the state of emergency protection, while promoting it widely to the public, contributing to preserving and spreading the unique value of this traditional art form.

In her opening speech, Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said: "The festival aims to encourage and promote the teaching and practice of Ca Tru at the grassroots level, while discovering and nurturing Ca Tru talents of all ages and promoting propaganda and promotion to the masses, thereby preserving and promoting the value of Ca Tru intangible cultural heritage in Hanoi."

A performance at the 4th Hanoi Ca Tru Festival.

The festival took place on September 27 and 28, including 16 collective singing and dancing performances, 105 contestants from 21 groups, ca tru clubs and contestants in Hanoi competing in the contest of female singers, double players and drum players. Contestants attending the festival ranged in age from 8 to 86. Both the number of contestants and the number of teams participating in this year's festival have increased significantly compared to 2024. Notably, among the participating units this year, there are many new groups such as: Huong Que, Tieng Thoi Gian, Dan Ca Vi Dam Xu Nghe... The increasing participation of teams and contestants shows the increasingly widespread influence of ca tru not only in traditional craft villages but also in the community of folk art lovers.

The organizers said that this year, the festival will continue to classify contestants by age to have the fairest evaluation. In addition, in addition to the general judging criteria of costumes, performance space, and harmony, the specific criteria for each competition category will also be given special attention. Therefore, the judges will emphasize the criteria of correctness and style when judging.
