
On the evening of October 4, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi organized the Vietnam - Russia Love Song Festival to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025), to welcome the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030, and to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (January 30, 1950 - January 30, 2025).
Attending the festival were Mr. Gennady Bezdetko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Vietnam and his wife. On the Central and City side, there were: Mr. Vo Van Tuan, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Vice President of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association; Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Vice President of the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations; Mr. Duong Hoai Nam, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Viet Hung Ward, Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi.

In his opening speech, Mr. Duong Hoai Nam recalled the long history of traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation. 75 years ago, the Soviet Union was one of the first countries in the world to recognize and officially establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Since then, the relationship between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today has always been warm, trusting, overcoming many challenges and fluctuations of the world situation as well as the development of each country.
Mr. Duong Hoai Nam expressed his hope that this event would be an opportunity for those who used to live and study in Russia to meet again, reminisce about their youth and express their deep feelings for Russia.

Attending and speaking at the Festival, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko said that over the past three-quarters of a century, Russia-Vietnam relations have gone through a long and glorious journey. The people of the two countries have stood side by side to overcome the most difficult periods. The strong friendship and deep sympathy have become a solid foundation for close cooperation in many fields.
According to him, Russia-Vietnam cooperation is currently developing steadily according to the agreements reached at the highest level in the spirit of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. One of the decisive factors for the further development of this relationship is regular and trustworthy political dialogue between the leaders of Russia and Vietnam.
People-to-people diplomacy remains an integral part of the entire bilateral relationship between the two countries. It is an essential and effective channel of interaction to strengthen relations at the inter-state level. Memories of the two countries’ shared history will be passed on to the younger generation, connecting the hearts and minds of the people, promoting solidarity and mutual understanding.
The Russian Ambassador to Vietnam thanked the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi for its efforts to contribute to strengthening bilateral relations through the Vietnam - Russia Love Song Festival and many other activities.
Participating in the Festival were many performances from typical branches of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Hanoi city and delegates from the Russian Embassy, the Russian Center for Science and Culture, the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Viet Hung ward and the people of Le Mat village.
During the past time, the units have actively practiced and prepared to participate in the Festival with many performances of songs and dances praising the homeland, country and people of the two peoples of Vietnam and Russia.
