With its majestic, magical, and unique natural scenery and diverse system of rocky islands and caves, Bai Tu Long Bay is considered the "brother" of Ha Long Bay. Despite its many advantages, in recent years, the tourism potential of Bai Tu Long Bay has not been effectively exploited. To "awaken" this beautiful island region, Quang Ninh province is currently directing relevant departments, branches, sectors, and localities to actively promote and form tourism products, so that Bai Tu Long Bay is an attractive destination, attracting tourists.

In order to gradually and effectively exploit the values of potential tourism routes in Bai Tu Long Bay, since 2020, Quang Ninh province has approved the overall project for management and development of sea and island tourism in Bai Tu Long - Co To - Van Don. In 2014, the province also had a master plan for tourism development in Quang Ninh, orienting the development of sea and island tourism products in Ha Long Bay - Bai Tu Long - Van Don - Co To... into a key sea and island tourism route.

It can be seen that Bai Tu Long Bay with thousands of natural stone islands, creating a special form like a watercolor painting. On the stone islands of this bay, there are also famous caves such as Cap Ky Nhay, Cap Ky Gia, The Vang, Hon Chong island cluster, Hon Van Don, Hon On, Hon Ba Sao, Chan Nghia mountain... In addition, on Bai Tu Long Bay there is Bai Tu Long National Park which has been recognized by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations as the 38th ASEAN Heritage Park, containing many values of biodiversity, landscape, unique and rare ecological environment; along with many inhabited islands such as Quan Lan, Minh Chau, Ngoc Vung...

In order to exploit the advantages of Bai Tu Long Bay to contribute to the socio -economic development of the locality, the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province recently issued Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND on announcing sightseeing and tourism itineraries on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay. There are 10 itineraries to visit Bai Tu Long Bay, including: Itinerary 1: Ao Tien Port - Tay Hoi Island - Lucky Cat Islet (Lazy Cat Islet) - Ban Sen Island - Nha Tro Cave. Itinerary 2: Ao Tien Port - Phat Co Cave - Pearl Farming Area (Black Stone Islet) - Lao Vong Canal - Du Islet (Du Islet) - Minh Chau Island. Itinerary 3: Ao Tien Port - Hon Xep Park. Itinerary 4: Ao Tien Port - Lao Vong Canal Fishing Village - Tra Ngo Lon Island - Thien Nga Islet. Itinerary 5: Ao Tien Port - Cai De Area - Mang Ha Overnight Anchorage Point. Itinerary 6: Ao Tien Port - Tra Than lagoon (large Tra Ngo island) - Cai Lim beach - Mang Ha overnight anchorage - Cai De area. Itinerary 7: Port, wharf (Cam Pha) - Luong Ngoc beach - Vung Duc - Ong Cu island - Reu island - Cua Ong. To soon form tourism products on Bai Tu Long Bay, Van Don District People's Committee organized an interdisciplinary team to survey the actual passenger transport route from Ao Tien port through Vanh gate to Co To port and the sightseeing and tourism routes on Bai Tu Long Bay according to Decision No. 2119/QD-UBND of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee.

Based on the survey of the journeys, it is expected that there will be 7 overnight anchorage points. These points will be announced as anchorage areas, invested in safety such as: Regulations, having floating vehicles for rescue operations, medical care, ensuring security and order...

The early construction of new tourist routes and products on Bai Tu Long Bay will help expand the space for sea and island tourism, creating many new, interesting and unique experiences for tourists, enhancing the attractiveness of the tour routes, thereby creating more attraction for sea and island tourism in Quang Ninh, contributing to the development and economic growth of the locality.
