Opening of '5-star' tourist train connecting Hue heritage

This morning, March 26, Vietnam Railways Corporation coordinated with two localities, Thua Thien-Hue province and Da Nang city, to launch a tourist train serving domestic and foreign tourists.

The tourist train connecting the Central region's heritage officially rolls out

After going into operation, the operating unit will organize two pairs of trains with the numbers HD1/2 and HD3/4 between Hue - Da Nang every day with the name "Connecting Central Heritage".

Chairman of Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong presented flowers to the train crew and service staff on the train.

Specifically, in Hue City, train HD1 departs from Hue station at 7:45 a.m. and arrives at Da Nang station at 10:35 a.m.; train HD3 departs from Hue station at 2:25 p.m. and arrives at Da Nang station at 5:40 p.m.

Hue Railway Station was built in 1908, is now 116 years old and still retains its ancient architectural appearance.

In the opposite direction, in Da Nang City, train HD2 departs from Da Nang station at 7:50 a.m. and arrives at Hue station at 11:05 a.m.; train HD4 departs from Da Nang station at 3:00 p.m. and arrives at Hue station at 5:45 p.m.

The announced ticket price is 150,000 VND/ticket, the monthly ticket price is 900,000 VND/ticket and there is a discount policy for policy beneficiaries.

According to Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railway Corporation, the tourist train put into operation includes 7 carriages including: 1 power generation service carriage, 5 56-seat AL carriages, 1 B carriage serving service activities.

Previously, to prepare for the operation of these two trains, the Corporation focused on renovating the interior, investing in equipment on the train cars; and arranging a part of the waiting room area at Hue station and Da Nang station.

Thua Thien-Hue Province has also closely coordinated with Vietnam Railways Corporation to prepare the best conditions to put into operation two trains, to ensure that transportation services must be different in the direction of train services with tourist route experiences between the two destinations of Hue, Da Nang and Lang Co tourist destination.

At the same time, coordinate with transport companies to invest and upgrade into high-quality train waiting rooms to diversify and renew passenger transport products and services; meet the needs of tourists, international visitors and other customers.

On that journey, the train will pass through beautiful railway routes such as Hai Van Pass, which has been listed by some international newspapers as one of the most beautiful and worth-experiencing railway routes in the world.
