In mid-June, many tourists coming to Do Son tourist area (Hai Phong city) were no longer able to immerse themselves in the 7-hectare artificial seawater swimming pool, which is known as the largest swimming pool in Asia at Hon Dau Resort international tourist area.

The largest artificial seawater filtration pool in Asia with an area of up to 7 hectares was invested in construction in 2011.

Mr. Tran Quoc Viet (a tourist from Hanoi ) shared: "Searching online, I found that Do Son has 2 tourist areas, Hon Dau Resort and Dragon Hill, which are quite attractive. Dragon Hill was fully booked, so we chose to stay at Hon Dau Resort for 2 days on the weekend because there is a swimming pool there that filters seawater, creates waves big enough for children to play and is safe, so everyone was excited. However, when we arrived, we discovered that the swimming pool was not as advertised because it had been narrowed, no different from a normal swimming pool, and was not operating. Therefore, we turned back to Do Son area 2 with the hope of finding a satisfactory room, but there were only old hotels and motels there." After a while of discussion, he, his wife and 2 children decided to go to Hai Phong city to rent a hotel, join a food tour during the day, and go to the beach in the evening to enjoy seafood and enjoy the breeze.

After 12 years of operation, the swimming pool was deserted and was reduced to a swimming pool by Hon Dau International Tourism Joint Stock Company.

Talking to Thanh Nien, Mr. Hoang Thieng, General Director of Hon Dau International Tourism Joint Stock Company (Area 3 Do Son, Hai Phong City), said that he and the company members had reduced the artificial seawater swimming pool to half its area.

The reason for the shrinkage, according to Mr. Thieng, is that after the beaches at Dragon Hill tourist area were formed, the number of visitors to this place decreased sharply. Moreover, the swimming pool is too large so the wave creation is not as expected.

Previously, on April 30, 2011, at Hon Dau International Tourist Area, Hon Dau International Tourism Joint Stock Company inaugurated the largest artificial seawater filtration pool in Asia with an area of up to 7 hectares. This is the first seawater filtration and wave-creating pool built in Vietnam with a depth of 2.5m, like a natural beach with fine white sand...

The water in the swimming pool is taken from the available seawater source, then passed through a Spanish technology filtration system to treat dirt, turning it into clear blue water that retains its salinity, creating waves all year round. Next to the large swimming pool is a small swimming pool for children with a safe depth, in the middle of the pool is a slide system for visitors to enjoy.
