Urgently overcome the consequences of floods in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh chaired a meeting to discuss urgent solutions to overcome the consequences of natural disasters in Ha Giang 1 and Ha Giang 2 wards.

Attending the meeting were comrade Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of a number of departments and branches.

According to preliminary statistics so far, Ha Giang 1 ward has over 2,700 households flooded, 37 hectares of crops damaged, many areas flooded from 0.5 to 3 meters deep. Ha Giang 2 ward has over 5,000 houses flooded, many areas and roads are cut off, flooded from 3 to 4 meters high. In addition, many schools, headquarters of agencies and units are deeply flooded. The total damage in the areas is still being urgently reviewed, counted and specifically assessed by the locality.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Huy Ngoc summarized the damage caused by floods in the province and directed a number of tasks to be carried out in overcoming natural disasters.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Huy Ngoc stated: Localities need to develop specific civil defense plans; review and accurately assess damage; the mobilization of "4 on-site" forces needs to be done better; issues of electricity supply, domestic water supply, waste and environmental sanitation need to be quickly implemented so that people can soon restore and stabilize their lives.

Comrade Vang Seo Con, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Giang 2 Ward reported on damage caused by floods in the area.

After listening to opinions, Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh sent his condolences to the families and relatives of those missing and injured in the natural disaster caused by storm No. 10 in the province. At the same time, he acknowledged the local work in preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and highly appreciated the spirit of mutual love, sharing and helping each other of the people during the floods.

Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee Tran Quang Minh spoke at the meeting.

Sectors and localities need to carefully review, fully evaluate, and assign specific tasks to have plans to overcome the consequences of natural disasters for the two wards and surrounding areas. Promote the leadership role of the ward and commune, especially the Party Committee, the government and the people need to be proactive, in which cadres and party members are exemplary pioneers in supporting the overcoming of natural disasters. Request the military , police and business community to mobilize maximum forces and means, join hands to support means to overcome the consequences of natural disasters. It is imperative that in the coming days, waste in the two wards must be cleared.

Provincial Police leaders proposed a number of solutions to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

In the matter of ensuring environmental hygiene, it is necessary to propagate people to coordinate with the force, clearly specifying the time and location to ensure the highest efficiency. The issue of epidemic hygiene at hospitals and medical stations must be concerned and ensured.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Giang Ward 1 Nguyen Danh Hung reported on the damage and disaster recovery work in the area.

Provincial Party Secretary Hau A Lenh requested the education sector to review all schools, focus on cadres, teachers, parents, youth union members and armed forces to handle the consequences of natural disasters in the fastest time to ensure students' learning. Public services such as telecommunications and electricity must also be quickly restored to ensure people's lives soon stabilize. The provision, reception and use of support funds must be carried out in a public, transparent and appropriate manner.
