Accordingly, in Lao Cai province, the Center has distributed 30 tons of organic fertilizer to more than 400 households growing mulberry and raising silkworms, helping to supplement nutrition, improve soil and restore mulberry trees affected by floods; provided 1,000 liters of disinfectant to 30 villages to treat the environment and limit the spread of disease after natural disasters.
At the same time, 950 kg of vitamins and minerals were donated to nearly 2,700 households to disinfect barns and increase livestock resistance.
The Center's livestock and crop experts went directly to each household to provide guidance on sanitation measures, disinfection of barns, handling of poultry farming equipment, and care for and disease prevention for livestock after floods.

People were trained on feed management, disease prevention for chickens after floods, technical preparation of coops for new batches, as well as post-flood care of mulberry trees – including soil treatment techniques, fertilization, pest control, disinfection of silkworm houses and silkworm farming tools.
The program is one of a series of practical activities of the National Agricultural Extension Center to support production recovery, environmental protection and ensure disease safety in localities heavily affected by floods.
According to statistics, in Lao Cai, the circulation of storms No. 10 (Bualoi) and No. 11 (MatMo) caused an estimated damage of about 2,820 billion VND. In the agricultural sector alone, nearly 23,000 hectares of rice and crops, over 12,000 livestock and poultry, and 103 hectares of aquatic products were damaged.
Therefore, the timely support of the National Agricultural Extension Center not only helps people stabilize production and restore their livelihoods, but also demonstrates the accompanying role of the agricultural sector in building a proactive, sustainable and disaster-resilient agriculture.
