Urgently remove obstacles for key projects

(HGO) - On the morning of March 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh , Head of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the transport sector, chaired the 10th meeting of the Steering Committee. According to the Ministry of Transport, ministries, branches and localities have proactively and actively coordinated in implementing assigned tasks. Regarding site clearance, most localities have actively and resolutely implemented this work, basically meeting the construction progress; the construction of resettlement areas and relocation of high-voltage power lines is still slow compared to requirements. With the Can Tho - Ca Mau component project including An Giang, Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces, the sand supply has been arranged to 16.02 million ^m3 , while the source of 2.98 million ^m3 has not been determined. Procedures have been completed, and mines with a total reserve of 9 million ^m3 are being exploited; procedures are being completed to exploit 7 million ^m3 ...

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the ministries , branches , localities, contractors, and construction units for proactively and actively coordinating to implement assigned tasks with the spirit of "only discussing work, not backtracking"; investors and contractors continued to make efforts to organize construction with the determination to "overcome the sun, overcome the rain", "eat quickly , sleep quickly", work in "3 shifts", work on Saturdays and Sundays" to speed up the construction progress.

According to the Prime Minister, currently the country has 34 major projects, 86 important national component projects, key transport sector projects in 46 provinces and centrally-run cities. Therefore, the entire local political system must get involved to do a good job of site clearance. All levels of government must get involved according to their functions, tasks, and powers in a spirit of openness and transparency; in some areas, general policies must be applied, in others, specific policies must be applied.

The biggest difficulty of the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway project is still the source of sand for the roadbed.

The Prime Minister requested that projects supported by the people must be implemented quickly, decisively, and thoroughly. According to the Prime Minister, no matter how difficult the problem is, if there is determination and "correct and accurate" solutions, it will be solved. Regarding the use of sea sand, based on the results of the pilot use of sea sand as a roadbed, localities have directed investors to proactively research and expand implementation in suitable areas; Soc Trang and Tra Vinh provinces continue to direct agencies to coordinate with investors to hand over sea sand mines to contractors to carry out exploitation procedures according to the instructions of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment ...
