In recent years, before major holidays associated with important national events, hostile forces often intensify many ideological sabotage activities through the media and social networks. Denying the achievements of the August Revolution in 1945 and the leadership role of the Indochinese Communist Party in that revolution is a trick we often see.

The historical reality of Vietnam over the past 78 years is a strong and convincing proof affirming the immutable values of the August Revolution in 1945, which was to abolish the semi-feudal colonial regime and establish the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The undeniable, immutable value of the August Revolution of 1945 is shown in the following highlights.

Firstly, the August Revolution of 1945 broke out and won because the Communist Party of Vietnam (at that time called the Indochinese Communist Party), headed by leader Ho Chi Minh, wisely chose the right path to national liberation.

Right from the years of wandering abroad to find a way to save the country, leader Nguyen Ai Quoc affirmed: "To save the country and liberate the nation, there is no other way than the path of proletarian revolution". The revolutionary peaks of 1930-1931, 1936-1939, 1939-1945 were truly "rehearsals" so that when the situation and opportunity were ripe, the Party Central Committee and leader Ho Chi Minh issued the order for a General Uprising to seize power throughout the country at the right time, at the most favorable time, so this revolution took place quickly, with little bloodshed and won victory nationwide.

Second, without the August Revolution in 1945, our country could not have the foundation, position, prestige and potential it has today and our people would hardly have the status of masters as they do now.

Before 1945, Vietnam was a semi-feudal colony, poor, backward and had no name on the world map. The people's educational level was low, the famine in 1945 caused by Japanese fascism took the lives of more than 2 million people.

Immediately after declaring independence, on September 3, 1945, in the first meeting of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh outlined six urgent tasks, of which famine relief was the top priority. The victory over the “famine” was one of the first great achievements of the revolutionary state and clearly demonstrated the superiority of the new regime.

Along with the mission of eradicating “hunger” is the eradication of “illiteracy” with the “Popular Education” movement, building a new culture, a new way of life, and eliminating the culture of slavery of the colonial and feudal regimes. Vietnamese is officially used in the Vietnamese school system.

Third, the August Revolution of 1945 abolished colonial, fascist and feudal domination, building the first people's democratic state in the history of the nation.

The goal of the August Revolution in 1945 was to overthrow French imperialism, Japanese fascism and feudalism, to gain complete national independence, true national independence to build a better, more superior society. It was not a transition from a “king-rule” regime to a “party-rule” regime, but a change in nature, from a “feudal monarchy” regime to a “democratic republic”, from a brutal colonial and feudal regime to a people-ruled regime under the leadership of the Communist Party and the management of the People's Democratic State.

The past 78 years since the August Revolution broke out and won is also nearly a century of affirmation: Without the August Revolution, there would have been no birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
