Prosecution of the subject who forged documents and then pawned a rented motorbike | QUANG NAM ONLINE NEWSPAPER

(QNO) - On June 8, the Criminal Police Department of Quang Nam Police announced that it had prosecuted and temporarily detained Ho Trieu Tien (born 1993, residing in Tam Thai commune, Phu Ninh) for the act of "Forging documents of agencies and organizations, using fake documents of agencies and organizations".

According to the investigation, in early 2023, Ho Trieu Tien rented a SH motorbike from a motorbike rental facility in Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city and a Wave brand motorbike from a woman in Tam Ky city for use. After renting the two motorbikes, Tien used a social network account to find someone to make fake documents, contacted and provided information of the above vehicles to order 2 fake motorbike and motorbike registration certificates.

Having received the above fake documents, on April 9, 2023, Ho Trieu Tien brought the Wave brand motorbike to a pawnshop in Phu Thinh town (Phu Ninh) along with a fake motorbike registration certificate to pawn the above motorbike for 9 million VND. Also at this pawnshop, Tien continued to use the fake motorbike registration certificate to pawn the SH motorbike for 20 million VND.

Next, to have money to spend and pay the interest on the pawn, Ho Trieu Tien continued to go to another pawn shop in Phu Thinh district to give information that he had a SH motorbike that his sister had given him and was currently pawning it. The motorbike had papers (in fact, fake papers) and showed a photo of Tien's ID card as proof. At the same time, Tien and the pawn shop staff went to check the actual SH motorbike at the pawn shop first to create trust.

The pawn shop employee agreed to pawn the SH motorbike for 35 million VND so that Tien could redeem the SH motorbike. Tien used the money from pawning the motorbike for personal expenses.

Ho Trieu Tien has three previous convictions for fraud and breach of trust.
