The situation of using the road to set up tents for weddings and funerals is still quite common. In the photo: A family occupies almost the entire road in the new residential area of Lai Khe (Kim Thanh) to hold a wedding. Photo taken at 4 p.m. on March 8.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong has requested localities to continue promoting civilized lifestyles in weddings and funerals. People are encouraged to use village cultural houses, residential areas, and funeral homes to hold weddings and funerals instead of using the roadway or sidewalk to ensure traffic safety.

The Department also encourages people to use cremation instead of burial, contributing to reducing pressure on land funds and protecting the environment. Focus on building regulations for cemetery management, associated with the implementation of village covenants and conventions in residential areas, with strict sanctions for violations of regulations on spontaneous tomb construction.

Localities actively propagate to people not to organize lavish and prolonged weddings and funerals; not to use excessive sound, violating urban management regulations; and not to scatter votive papers on funeral routes.

In recent years, the implementation of civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals in Hai Duong has achieved many results. Many models of civilized lifestyle in weddings and funerals have been effectively implemented in communes and wards: Co Thanh (Chi Linh city), Ngo Quyen (Thanh Mien), Nam Sach town, Tan Ky (Tu Ky). However, the situation of using the roadside to set up tents for weddings and funerals is still quite common, causing traffic insecurity. At the end of 2024, a car driver with a blood alcohol concentration crashed into a funeral tent in Ke Sat town (Binh Giang).
