Hanoi Moi Newspaper had an interview with Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Hanoi Women's Union Le Kim Anh about the aspirations of women in the capital to rise in the digital age.

Linking emulation with social security

- Madam, what is the most prominent movement that the Association has implemented to arouse the spirit of solidarity and creativity among women in the capital?

- In recent years, the Hanoi Women's Union has concretized the emulation movement of the Central Union "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" with the movement "Building women of the Capital who are Loyal - Creative - Responsible - Elegant". This movement is associated with the implementation of the campaigns "Building families of 5 no's, 3 clean's", "Women of the Capital with beautiful behavior".

The results show a strong response when each year 91 to 95% of members register and 91% of members meet the standards through evaluation. These numbers prove that the movement has become a self-need of women. Along with that, social security programs launched by the Association such as "Godmother", "Accompanying children", "Accompanying women in the border areas", "Warm and loving Tet" ... have a great influence, attracting a large number of members and women to participate. These activities do not stop at the nature of the movement but have really gone into depth, with specific work, models, addresses, and results, affirming the humane beauty of women in the capital.

- Can you share specifically about activities to support women and children in difficult circumstances, ethnic minority women and vulnerable women groups?

- From 2021 to now, many practical and humane support programs for women and children in difficult circumstances, and women in ethnic minority areas have been actively and effectively implemented. Typical programs include: "Godmother" successfully mobilized 9 billion 850 million VND to support 1,277 orphans; "Accompanying children" mobilized nearly 5.5 billion VND to give to poor students overcoming difficulties... Along with that, social security gift giving activities have been widely deployed, with hundreds of thousands of gifts sent to poor households, near-poor households, disabled women, single women, female migrant workers; built and repaired hundreds of "homes of love" for women members in difficult circumstances, thereby conveying the feelings and responsibilities of the Association and the wish that no woman is left behind.

The Association's support is not only in providing material support, but also in creating a safe, fair and empowering environment for women to confidently take control of their lives. The Association also focuses on ethnic minority women through the active implementation of Project 8 on "Promoting gender equality and solving urgent problems for women and children" under the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Overcoming barriers and digital challenges

- In the context of digital transformation and changes of the new era, what challenges are women in the capital facing, madam?

- With the attention of the city's leaders, women in the capital, with their efforts to rise up with talent, intelligence and responsibility, are increasingly affirming their important role in all areas of social life, making worthy contributions to the innovation, construction and development of the capital. However, the current digital transformation process also poses barriers for women, such as the ability to apply information technology, safety issues in the digital space, gender stereotypes and the pressure to balance work and family...

We are also deeply aware that the new era, with unprecedented challenges and opportunities, requires women to have a strong transformation in both thinking and action. The Fourth Industrial Revolution, with artificial intelligence, digital technology and biotechnology, opens up opportunities as well as challenges. The increasingly strong explosion of digital technology and e-commerce has led to concerns about the fading of national cultural identity and traditional family values. This is one of the urgent issues that the Association needs to identify and proactively propose appropriate solutions. In addition, we are also clearly aware of social issues that directly affect women: Divorce rates tend to increase, replacement fertility is decreasing, and the quality of life of elderly women needs more attention.

- So what will the Association do to help women in the capital continue to promote tradition and step firmly into the new era?

- In my opinion, women in the capital in the new era need to be "Self-reliant - Self-confident - Self-respecting": Economically independent, mastering knowledge; self-confident, daring to think, daring to do, ready to participate in new fields; self-respecting, preserving moral qualities, lifestyle, contributing to building a healthy cultural environment. Therefore, the goal of the Association is to help each woman have a foundation for lifelong learning, both having political courage and a spirit of self-reliance and self-confidence, while preserving the beauty of kindness and elegance of the people of Trang An, to move steadily into the new era.

To accompany women, the Association launched the “Three Competitions” model among women in the capital. Firstly, compete in studying to improve qualifications in all aspects, including digital learning with instructions on effectively exploiting digital platforms and social networks. Secondly, compete in applying digital technology, ensuring safety in cyberspace, including education on cyber safety and preventing fraud in cyberspace. Thirdly, compete in building a family of “5 yes, 3 clean, 3 safe”, in which “3 safe” are: Safety, Social security and Peace of mind.

Along with that, the Association will also deploy new models: "Digital Cooperative", applying technology in management and business; "Women's Digital Business Group", proactively supporting women in digital transformation, green transformation, improving digital management skills, building product brands, to help women access the market through digital platforms. In addition, the Association focuses on awakening the potential and creativity of women in applying science, technology and innovation. The aim is to change social awareness about the role of women, not only as technology users, but also as creators, innovators and leaders of technology projects.

Every woman needs to maintain the traditional qualities of “Loyalty - Creativity - Responsibility - Elegance”, while at the same time equipping herself with digital knowledge to integrate into the new era; turning the challenges of the digital era into opportunities for each woman to become a creator, contributing to building a civilized, modern and happy Capital.
