The success of the Congress has created confidence among the majority of people with the hope that the decisions passed at the Congress will soon come into life, bringing a new look to the Capital, so that Hanoi can increasingly change and develop, worthy of the position and pride of the whole country.
Watching the closing session broadcast live, veteran Nguyen Thuan Quang, 89 years old, 65 years of Party membership, living in Nghia Do ward (Hanoi) said: “I have lived in Hanoi for decades, through many periods, peace and then renovation. From the years when the city was still covered with moss, the streets were empty of vehicles, people lived frugally from meal to meal, to today, Hanoi has put on a new youthful, vibrant coat while still retaining its elegant and affectionate soul.”
Regarding the contents and developments of the City Party Congress, Mr. Quang was moved and confident: “Looking at the orientations and goals that the Congress has set for the next 5 years, I believe that the Capital will continue to change even more strongly. What I hope for most is to witness a Hanoi with works serving the people that have just been started: bridges, roads, hospitals, schools, cultural houses...”.
Pausing for a moment, his eyes distant and then warming, Mr. Quang confided: “I am old, I may not be able to see all those changes. But I believe that our children and grandchildren will live in a civilized, modern, green and proud Hanoi - where everyone feels happy as the criteria set out by the Congress.”
As for Mr. Tran Huu Hoa, 79 years old, 55 years of Party membership, living in residential group 10, Thanh Xuan ward (Hanoi), he is interested in two questions raised by General Secretary To Lam at the opening session of the Congress. That is: How will Hanoi shape its identity and development model to both preserve the soul of Thang Long and strive to become a creative, green, smart, globally connected metropolis, commensurate with the appearance of the capital of a high-income developed country with socialist orientation by 2045? How will the Hanoi Party Committee improve its leadership capacity and fighting strength to turn goals and decisions into results, so that the people of the capital can participate and enjoy the fruits of development?
“Those two questions, in my opinion, are not only strategic directions but also a profound reminder to every cadre, party member, and every citizen of Hanoi. As a long-time party member, I clearly feel the responsibility of each of us in contributing to preserving the soul of Thang Long: that is culture, lifestyle, elegant spirit, loyalty, and at the same time, we must dare to innovate, dare to think, dare to do to bring the capital to develop on par with the region,” Mr. Tran Huu Hoa shared.
Mr. Hoa hopes that in the 2025-2030 term, the Hanoi Party Committee will continue to innovate leadership thinking, improve management efficiency and especially promote people's strength in all fields. "Only when the people are truly the center, the subject of the development process, when every project and every policy is aimed at human happiness, can Hanoi become a city of the future - modern, humane and worth living", Mr. Tran Huu Hoa confided.
As a fourth-year student of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Hanoi Capital University, Tran Nguyen Thu Trang shared that she is particularly interested in the city's development orientations in the field of education and training in the coming term as stated at the Congress, including the task of "Developing education and training, high-quality human resources leading the country, and deep international integration".
Expressing her hope that in the new term, Hanoi will soon implement solutions to improve the quality of the teaching staff - those who are spreading knowledge and inspiring aspirations for generations of students, Tran Nguyen Thu Trang confided: "Over the past years, I have clearly felt the attention and investment of Hanoi city in education and training, from building schools, innovating programs to taking care of the lives of teachers. I hope that when we enter the profession, we will be able to work in a modern, humane educational environment, be given the conditions to develop our capacity, creativity and most importantly, be able to fully devote ourselves to the education cause of the capital".
In the content of the Action Program to implement the Congress Resolution stated at the closing session, the entire Hanoi Party Committee will thoroughly grasp the action motto that General Secretary To Lam directed: "Hanoi says what it does - do it quickly, do it correctly, do it effectively, do it to the end". This is also what many people in the capital in particular and the whole country in general expect.
Believing that, with the viewpoints, goals, targets, tasks and key solutions stated in the Resolution of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, Hanoi will become a "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" capital, green, smart, a place where cultural quintessence converges, deeply integrated internationally, highly competitive, with a development level on par with the capitals of developed countries in the region; a center and driving force for the development of the Red River Delta and the Northern region, a growth pole with a leading role in the country's economy, with influence in the region; a major economic and financial center; a leading center of culture, education and training, healthcare, science, technology and innovation; stable politics and society, a peaceful city, happy people.
