Lamborghini Urus in Vietnam at risk of hood popping open while driving

The fixed mount is not designed properly, causing the hood to pop up unintentionally when the Lamborghini Urus is traveling at speeds above 150 km/h.

S&S Automotive, the distributor of the Lamborghini supercar brand, is recalling 24 Urus cars with a defective hood design. These models were manufactured at the factory in Italy between November 2022 and January 2024.

The reason for the recall of the Urus series is that the rivets that secure the hood lock are not designed to meet technical standards. When the vehicle is operating at high speeds, from 150 km/h or more, the design defect can create a gap between the hood and the front bumper. This condition increases over time, leading to the risk of the hood popping up, blocking the driver's view.

The company has not recorded any incidents related to the above error. The recall is a precautionary measure. The only Lamborghini dealer in Ho Chi Minh City receives and fixes the error for customers free of charge. Repair time for each car is about 1.4 hours.
