Sharing with the needy
Last weekend, the Hoa Tho Dong 5 Women's Union (Cam Le Ward) organized a "Zero-VND Market", bringing joy to many members. Gifts such as rice, vegetables, clothes, shoes... were neatly displayed, all prepared with the hearts of women's union members and donors. The activity aims to support disadvantaged families, contributing to spreading the spirit of mutual love in the community.
Ms. Le Thi Nguyen shared: “When the association informed me about the gift, I was very happy. Coming here, I chose to receive rice and necessary food for my family. The program is very meaningful, helping us feel the care and sharing of the community.”
On this occasion, Hoa Tho Dong 5 Women's Association presented 45 gifts to people and children in need; at the same time, donated funds for the "Godmother" program to an orphaned student and gave 7 gifts to outstanding members with a total cost of more than 25 million VND.
Ms. Le Thi Hang Ngan, President of Hoa Tho Dong 5 Women's Association, said: "The program received a great response from members and people. We wish to join hands to help women in difficulty, orphans, spread the spirit of charity, and contribute to the good implementation of social security work in the locality."
“Free” Ao Dai given to poor women
Not only in Cam Le ward, that spirit of charity continues to spread to Ha Dong residential group (Dien Ban Bac ward). On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union, the Ha Dong Women's Association for the first time deployed the "0 Dong Ao Dai" model, attracting the response of many members.
At the call of the association, many members enthusiastically donated more than 100 Ao Dai sets. After receiving them, the association washed them, arranged them neatly and created a display space at the community center for women to choose from.
On the day of the model launch, women in difficult circumstances were invited to attend and personally choose for themselves suitable and satisfactory ao dai. Each ao dai given is not only a material gift, but also conveys feelings and love, helping women to have more joy in life.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, a member participating in the donation, shared: “I brought 2 sets of Ao Dai that are quite new, only worn a few times. Instead of keeping them in the closet, I want to give them to those who need them more. I hope this small act will spread the spirit of kindness in the community.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Cuc shared: “The model of '0 Dong Ao Dai' organized by the Ha Dong Women's Association is very humane. I chose two sets of Ao Dai that are quite new, donated by the sisters. This is a meaningful gift, helping me have Ao Dai to wear on important occasions. I thank the sisters' hearts.”
Along with that, the Ha Dong Women's Association also organized the model of "Raising piggy banks to help the poor". After one year of implementation, 28 piggy banks were "slaughtered" to get funds to support members in difficulty and people in the North affected by natural disasters and floods.
Ms. Vu Thi Dinh, Head of the Women's Association of Ha Dong residential group, said: "Every year, the association mobilizes dozens of gifts for poor women and disadvantaged children. In particular, the model '0 Dong Ao Dai' is implemented for the first time but has received a great response from many members. We hope that all women will have beautiful Ao Dai, thereby spreading acts of kindness in life."
