To better understand the preparation work as well as the competitive spirit of the athletes, the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper had conversations with members from the 3 regions of North - Central - South who came to the capital to participate in the tournament.

Through many years of participation, I have found that the Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament is increasingly systematic and scientific. The officials in the tournament organizing committee are very thoughtful from the work of issuing regulations to guiding the athletes on issues related to the tournament rules and regulations. Thanks to that, the athletes are proactive and timely in preparing the content to participate in the tournament.

After receiving the notice and the organization plan, the Hung Yen Provincial Journalists Association held a meeting and informed the branches, thanks to which each branch actively participated in the training. The Hung Yen Provincial Journalists Association may not have strong athletes, many achievements and medals, but when we knew there was a tournament, we all participated with more enthusiasm and excitement. We determined that it was an opportunity to exchange and improve our health.

At the end of this year, our Hung Yen newspaper office is carrying out many activities related to summarizing and developing content for the New Year and Lunar New Year issues. The brothers and sisters in the unit are also racing with the province's year-end activities, but we still take time to practice, even practicing at night and early in the morning.

Try to arrange your time appropriately so that it has little impact on your daily news production work. Finish your work first and then practice. For us Hung Yen journalists, everyone has their own favorite sport, but for me, table tennis is my favorite sport.

Every day, playing table tennis with colleagues is a joy and happiness. Work pressure is temporarily relieved, the gap between leaders and employees is gone... Those are the best things that table tennis brings.

Having participated in many major tournaments, for us the Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Cup always has a special attraction, each season has its own joy and happiness. This is an opportunity to meet friends and colleagues who love table tennis from all over the country to return to the capital. The tournament is also an opportunity for us to compete and devote ourselves to the flag and the noble spirit of sportsmanship. But I think what we gain more is that through the tournament, journalists and media workers understand, love and become closer to each other.

To prepare for this year's tournament, the members of the Ministry of Public Security Journalists Association delegation tried to spend time practicing, despite the busy year-end work. We took advantage of our breaks and strived to complete our professional tasks earlier to practice. We determined and maintained our competitive spirit both during practice and in official competitions.

We will try to maintain the achievements that the unit has won in previous years, this is quite difficult because in reality there have been many participating delegations with outstanding progress, many young athletes with good skills and tactics.

To prepare for this tournament, we also participated in a number of other small tournaments. For example, on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 2023), the representative office of the Public Security Communications Department in Ho Chi Minh City organized a table tennis tournament with the participation of nearly 100 athletes.

At the tournament, journalist Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, hopes that from this tournament, the representative office of the Public Security Communications Department in Ho Chi Minh City will expand it so that many press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces can participate and become the nucleus for the table tennis movement of journalists in the Southern region.

I personally hope that in the coming years, the Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Cup will be held in the southern provinces so that more people working in the press and media in the southern region can participate. Entering this year's tournament, I hope to maintain the best possible results, trying to contribute to the audience with exciting matches. But more importantly, I find that sports, especially table tennis, help me stay healthy so that my life and work can be better.

We always think about the role and responsibility of the local Journalists Association with the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association. Although we are one of the units located far away, we do not participate. Because we always consider this as one of the major movements of the year of the Vietnam Journalists Association. We determine that in addition to participating in professional journalism work, we also need to participate in the programs of activities launched by the Vietnam Journalists Association.

We always want to contribute a small part to the development of the Vietnam Journalists Association in many aspects and in many different fields. We hope that the brand of the Vietnam Journalists Association will continue to be closer to all journalists across the country.

We consider the Tournament opening as a noble sporting flame that begins to burn. It urges the competitive spirit of Vietnamese journalists. As soon as we received the implementation plan from the Tournament organizing committee, we had a meeting and decided to form a participating team. The athletes were encouraged to practice early even though they were very busy at the end of the year.

We are determined that whether we win a medal or stop at the group stage, the flame of solidarity, friendship, and noble sportsmanship will still be kept by us. We also do not put too much emphasis on the achievements of the athletes, but the enthusiasm and spirit of the journalists are important...

Over the years, the organizing committee has made innovations and become more flexible in applying digital technology to connect each member in the process of preparing for the tournament. The implementation of online lottery or receiving opinions from the delegations has also been implemented scientifically. The organizing committee also established zalo groups specifically for delegation leaders as well as athletes, which has helped the delegations to proactively arrange their time. I see that the organizing committee's preparation activities show clarity, openness and transparency.

However, if we hold it in Hanoi every year, it will be difficult for many provinces in the South. I think we should also coordinate to hold it in some provinces in the Central region so that the North and South can gather more conveniently. I hope that in the following years there will be more participating delegations, quality athletes and even better results.
