Leaders of the Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control of Nghe An province proactively monitor and support environmental sanitation and infectious disease prevention after storm No. 10.

Due to the impact of storm No. 10 (BuaLoi) in Nghe An province, many localities have experienced severe flooding, affecting domestic water sources, the environment, and the risk of infectious disease outbreaks. On October 5, 2025, Nghe An Department of Health and the Provincial Center for Disease Control organized two working groups to localities heavily affected by storm No. 10 to inspect damage, monitor, support environmental sanitation and prevent infectious diseases after storm No. 10.

Medical staff instruct people in flooded areas on how to treat domestic water.

The working groups went to the localities, health centers, commune health stations, and households to check the situation, provide guidance on domestic water treatment, environmental sanitation, and infectious disease prevention. At the same time, additional Cloramine B and Aquatabs were distributed to heavily flooded localities to treat water sources. Previously, the health sector had distributed these disinfectants to health units in the province, providing timely support for storm recovery and public health protection.

The delegation noted that local health centers and commune health stations have been very proactive in prevention activities during and after the storm and flood season. They proactively received supplies and chemicals and distributed them to affected people in a timely manner. At the same time, they advised local authorities, guided and worked with people to clean the environment, treat domestic water sources and closely monitor the epidemic situation during the rainy and flood season.
