The working delegation led by Mr. Tran Nam Trung - Deputy General Director of the Corporation, together with representatives of specialized departments, held an urgent meeting with the factory's Flood and Storm Prevention and Control Command Board, to review all flood prevention and control plans and ensure safety of the project and safety of the downstream area.

Previously, following the direction of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant proactively regulated and lowered the lake water level to 191m - 9m lower than the normal water level. Lowering the water level early is an important solution to ensure flood prevention capacity, contributing to reducing pressure on the downstream area of Nam Non River - Lam River in extreme weather conditions.

At the meeting, flood control plans were also carefully reviewed. Accordingly, when the flood flow to the reservoir exceeds 1,200 m³/s, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant will proactively switch to flood reduction mode for downstream areas according to the inter-reservoir operation process, in order to minimize the impact of floods on residential areas and infrastructure downstream. This is one of the key measures in the response scenario that has been developed, helping to promote the flood control role of the reservoir, while ensuring operational safety.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Tran Nam Trung - Deputy General Director of Power Generation Corporation 1 emphasized: "We clearly define our responsibility in operating the reservoir proactively, safely and flexibly. Lowering the reservoir water level before the storm arrives is not only to carry out orders from superiors, but also to act with high forecasting and responsibility towards the community. The top goal is to ensure absolute safety for the project, for people and property in the downstream area."

Mr. Trung also directed the operating unit to continue to closely monitor the development of storms and floods, regularly update weather forecasts, maintain 24/7 on-duty forces and ensure that equipment systems operate stably, ready for flood cutting and flood regulation situations downstream according to procedures, ensuring the highest safety.

Also during the inspection, the Corporation's leaders requested the factory to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities, functional agencies and the PCTT-TKCN Command Committees at all levels to update information and promptly handle any possible situations.

Ban Ve Hydropower Plant is the largest hydropower project in Nghe An province, with a large reservoir capacity and an important hydrological regulation role in the region. Therefore, safe reservoir operation, especially during the rainy and stormy season, is always a top priority for EVNGENCO1.

Power Generation Corporation 1 pledges to continue to resolutely implement measures to prevent and combat natural disasters according to the "4 on-site" motto, not being subjective, not allowing incidents due to floods to occur, ensuring safety for works and downstream areas during storm No. 5 and subsequent floods.
