Vietnam Shooting Federation explains

" The main purpose of the award ceremony on the evening of October 18 is for Vietnamese athletes and coaches. The Shooting Federation has a list of hot bonuses for athletes in advance, so it organized this ceremony ," Ms. Huynh Phuong Loan - General Secretary of the Vietnam Shooting Federation told VTC News.

Yesterday, October 18, the Vietnam Shooting Federation organized a ceremony to honor athletes and coaches who achieved high results at international competitions in 2023. Notably, Korean expert Park Chung-gun was not on the list of honorees. He is the one who has contributed a lot to the Vietnamese shooting team, especially helping Hoang Xuan Vinh win the Olympic gold medal and Pham Quang Huy win the 19th ASIAD.

Ms. Huynh Phuong Loan affirmed that the Vietnam Shooting Federation will honor Coach Park Chung-gun and the experts in another event: " In November, there will be a national championship, we will hold a ceremony to honor them later. Specifically, at the opening ceremony, many athletes and coaches will be present, we will hold a ceremony to honor, give flowers and thank the experts for helping the teams ."

The Vietnam Shooting Federation's award list on the evening of October 18 includes athletes who won medals at the ASIAD and the Asian Championship. This list includes Pham Quang Huy, Ngo Huu Vuong, Phan Cong Minh, Lai Cong Minh (achieved at the 19th ASIAD); Trinh Thu Vinh (won a ticket to the 2024 Olympics); Nguyen Thuy Trang (gold medal at the Asian Air Pistol Cup) and 3 coaches Hoang Xuan Vinh, Tran Quoc Cuong, Nghiem Viet Hung.

Mr. Park Chung-gun has worked for the Vietnamese shooting team since 2014. He has made many contributions to training athletes and contributing to the team's achievements in international competitions.

The Korean expert advises, supports, and trains athletes of shooting teams and is also the head coach of the teams. Mr. Park Chung-gun and coach Nguyen Thi Nhung have made great contributions to Hoang Xuan Vinh's 2016 Olympic gold medal and 2017 World Cup silver medal. At the 19th ASIAD, he and his team won 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal, and 1 bronze medal.
