Tran Hung Dao Temple Festival Spring Giap Thin 2024

On the night of February 23 (January 14, the year of the Dragon), at the National Historical and Cultural Relic of Tran Hung Dao Temple (Tho Khoi village, Yen Duong commune), the People's Committee of Ha Trung district organized the Tran Hung Dao Temple Festival in the Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024.

Tho Khoi Temple (or Tran Hung Dao Temple) is a special temple in Thanh land, the place that sheltered and left the footprints of the national hero Hung Dao Vuong and King Tran in the resistance war against the second Yuan-Mongol invaders in the spring of 1285.

Ha Trung district leaders opened the festival.

Faced with the power of the Yuan-Mongol invading army, King Hung Dao, with his intelligence, strategy, courage and resilience, led the royal court from Thien Truong across the sea to Thanh Hoa, finding a strategic location to retreat; and the land of Tam Giang - Tho Khoi, where three rivers converge: Tong Giang, Hoat Giang and Lung Khe, was the place chosen as the base to protect the safety of the royal court and to concentrate on consolidating and building forces.

During his stay here, he and King Tran mingled with the people, were protected and nurtured by the people; young men in the region flocked to join the army. In just a short time, the army was fully formed, marched straight to the North, achieved glorious feats, and won resounding victories in Chuong Duong, Ham Tu, Tay Ket... liberating Thang Long, bringing the second resistance war against the Yuan-Mongol invaders to complete victory.

After his death, to show respect and gratitude, the local people built a temple for him right on the land where he and King Tran had stationed troops.

Tran Hung Dao Temple Festival is held with traditional rituals such as worshiping the male god, offering incense and opening the seal ceremony.

This year, thanks to good preparation, there was no jostling or pushing to grab the seal. Locals and tourists were happy and excited to receive the seal, wishing for a lucky, peaceful and prosperous year.
