Many parents in Ho Chi Minh City are also worried that this year they might stop enrolling 6th grade students at Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted.

"I'm extremely worried hearing rumors that Tran Dai Nghia School will stop enrolling 6th graders this year. If it stops now, all the efforts of both mother and child will be wasted," complained a parent named Dong Nghi, Tan Binh District.

Ms. Nghi said she really wanted her child to study in grade 6 at Tran Dai Nghia School, so her family invested in her child since he was in grade 3.

For the past three years, rain or shine, mother and daughter have continuously attended exam preparation classes and extra classes with the goal of entering 6th grade at Tran Dai Nghia School.

"If I don't take the exam now, my child will be shocked. I haven't told him yet, but for a long time, the whole family has been thinking about him trying to study here. He has reviewed math, Vietnamese, and English.

In recent years, I have spent hundreds of millions on education, and my child has already decided to take the exam to enter this school, so I was shocked when I heard the rumors" - Ms. Nghi shared.

On some Tran Dai Nghia 6th grade exam preparation groups, many parents were shocked and worried that the school would stop taking exams this year. "Moms, does anyone know the exact information on whether the exam will be held this year or not?" - a parent asked.

Meanwhile, Ms. My - a parent who just registered her child for a crash course to get into Tran Dai Nghia 6th grade for more than 15 million VND, was upset: "If there is no enrollment, there should be an early plan so that parents and students will not suffer and lose money on studying. If we do it all at once, the suffering will fall on the heads of parents and students."

Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted was established in 2000 with a pilot model of enhancing English and students studying and living at school all day. The school enrolls students at both junior high and high school levels.

For many years, Tran Dai Nghia School has been the only school in Ho Chi Minh City to organize entrance exams for 6th graders. This is also considered the "hottest" middle school in Ho Chi Minh City.
