A series of illegal constructions "challenge" the government

Recently, Hanoi City has been strengthening the implementation of Directive 14 of the Hanoi City People's Committee on strengthening State management of agricultural land and public land in the area. Chairmen of the People's Committees of wards, communes and towns must resolutely and promptly handle violations (especially cases of self-conversion of land use purposes and illegal construction) in accordance with their authority and regulations as soon as such violations occur, compile records of violations beyond their authority, and report to the District People's Committee for handling in accordance with the law.

However, there are still many areas in the City that have not seriously implemented this Directive. Reflecting to Nguoi Dua Tin , many land areas in Ngoc Thuy Ward (Long Bien District, Hanoi City) have been "magically" transformed into restaurants, parking lots... that have been operating for many years, causing insecurity and disorder, posing a high risk of fire and explosion, but have not been thoroughly handled by the authorities.

As Nguoi Dua Tin reported, a series of restaurant and parking lot projects suddenly "sprouted up" after the project to build a road connecting Nguyen Van Cu to the end of the resettlement area of ​​Ngoc Thuy ward (Long Bien district, Hanoi city).

Accordingly, along the two strips of land along this route, many restaurants and parking lots have suddenly appeared, using the land for the wrong purpose. All of these buildings were built without permission and are currently awaiting forced demolition.

According to Nguoi Dua Tin, restaurants, parking lots... here are still openly operating, "challenging" the local authorities.

This makes public opinion believe that local authorities are showing signs of loosening management, allowing these violations to exist openly without being handled.

Regarding this issue, the People's Committee of Long Bien district has issued an official dispatch to receive information from Nguoi Dua Tin and has assigned the Long Bien District Construction Investment Project Management Board and Ngoc Thuy Ward People's Committee to review and specifically inform Nguoi Dua Tin about the management and handling work.

According to the People's Committee of Long Bien District, after reviewing the request of the press agency, the location of the land plots in the planning blocks A8/NO1, A8/NO2, A8/CC; A4/HH3, A4/HH4 belongs to the planning map of subdivision N10, Ngoc Thuy ward, Long Bien district.

In a quick exchange with Nguoi Dua Tin, a representative of the People's Committee of Long Bien district said that all the projects were illegal land use and construction.

The Chieu Binh restaurant grounds were photographed on August 26.

Inside are built many sheds with corrugated iron roofs, with many tables and chairs to serve dining needs.

Tables and chairs are arranged around the pond area.

It was noted that on the afternoon of August 26, this restaurant was still operating, with customers still eating inside.

Next to the restaurant are thousands of square meters that have been "magically" transformed by this unit into the Chieu Binh restaurant eco-zone.

Located opposite Chieu Binh restaurant is an ecological restaurant complex called Dam Sen Vietnamese cuisine.

According to Nguoi Dua Tin's observations, in this area there are many shacks located around the pond area, all with palm-leaf roofs, serving business purposes.

Along the route, thousands of square meters are being "magically" transformed into car parking lots.

The car park was built simply, posing a high risk of fire and explosion.

Dozens of cars are guarded here day and night. The risk of fire and explosion is always lurking in this area.

The People's Committee of Long Bien District assigned the District Construction Investment Project Management Board to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Ngoc Thuy Ward, based on the decisions approving the 40m road project from Nguyen Van Cu to Ngoc Thuy Resettlement Area and technical infrastructure of surrounding land plots; the conclusion of Hanoi City on handling the "Ba Do Pond" area, the plan to continue implementing site clearance to implement the project, and provide information to the press according to regulations.

Assign the People's Committee of Ngoc Thuy Ward to inform about the management and handling of temporary works, environmental sanitation and coordination of site clearance at the above locations according to authority.

Regarding land management in planning blocks A4/HH3, A4/HH4 of Ngoc Thuy ward: Assign the People's Committee of Ngoc Thuy ward to base on the conclusions and resolve complaints of competent authorities in Ho Chieu Binh area, inform the press about the results of settlement of land management, local construction order and management, maintain the status quo pending implementation of approved projects for areas with lease contracts in the above area (if any).

Currently, Nguoi Dua Tin has contacted the Long Bien District Construction Investment Project Management Board and Ngoc Thuy Ward People's Committee but has not received a response.
