Brigade 175 constantly improves training quality and combat readiness.

Brigade 175 (Naval Region 5) takes the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, and continental shelf of the Fatherland and building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern unit as its training goal.

As the main combat unit of Naval Region 5, over the years, Brigade 175 (Naval Region 5) has always thoroughly grasped the Party's military and defense guidelines, strictly implemented the leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense , the Navy and the Region 5 Command. The Party Committee and command of the Brigade have implemented many synchronous policies and solutions, promoting the combined strength of organizations and forces; attaching importance to improving the quality of training, building discipline, and training discipline; maintaining and constantly improving combat readiness, contributing to firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty of the Southwest sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Imbued with the viewpoint that “Training is a fundamental factor to enhance combat strength”, the Party Committee and commander of Brigade 175 have led and directed the unit to strongly innovate the content, form, and training methods, ensuring closeness to the combat object, battlefield, organization, and weapons and equipment. The Brigade takes the task of protecting the sovereignty of the sea, islands, and continental shelf of the Fatherland and building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern unit as the training target.

The Brigade focuses on thoroughly grasping the Party's military and defense viewpoints and guidelines; military and defense resolutions and conclusions, especially Resolution No. 1659-NQ/TW of the Central Military Commission on improving training quality for the 2023-2030 period and the following years.

In 2025, the Brigade Party Committee issued a resolution to lead the building of a model unit of the Service and Region 5 on "Comprehensive aspects of work"; a resolution to lead the implementation of training tasks in 2025 and build a model Brigade on "Excellent training", with the following targets: excellently completing combat readiness and combat tasks; building a politically strong Brigade; 100% of training officers are assigned according to their ranks, 80% or more of squadron-level officers are fairly and excellently trained (over 35% are excellent); 75% or more of ship and industry officers are fairly and excellently trained (over 20% are excellent)... The Brigade, 1 squadron and 3 ships strive to achieve excellent training units; no soldiers violate the law or serious discipline.

To complete the criteria of "Excellent training unit", the Brigade organizes training according to the motto "Basic, practical, solid", breaking through training "Basic, mastery, in-depth in exploiting and using technical equipment; improving the quality of cadre training".

New features in training in recent years are that the unit has increased night training, training in complex weather conditions, combined training with performing tasks at sea; combined military training with political education; training with physical training and health for soldiers; increased training in command of agencies, changing combat readiness status; improved the quality of drills, ensuring closeness to reality, closeness to the battlefield, closeness to the target of combat.

The unit focuses on innovation, improving the quality of inspection, preliminary and final summaries, and combating achievement disease in training; promoting scientific research and applying information technology in training direction, management, and operation.

Over the years, Brigade 175 has always successfully completed its training and combat readiness tasks; the overall quality and combat strength of the unit have been improved, better meeting mission requirements. In 2023, the Brigade was awarded the flag of leading the emulation movement and excellent training unit by the Ministry of National Defense.

In the coming time, Brigade 175 continues to identify combat readiness as an important task, placed in a high state. The unit organizes training and exercises according to plans and situations; strictly maintains the order of command, on-duty, and combat duty; ensures timely and effective handling of situations at sea, avoiding being passive or surprised.

The Brigade focuses on promoting the role of Party committees, political commissars, political officers, and commanders at all levels; building a team of cadres who are "both red and professional", exemplary in work, exemplary in training, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility. Political and ideological work is strengthened, promptly oriented, maintaining the ideological position of cadres and soldiers; promoting the "steel" spirit of Navy soldiers; steadfast and steadfast in the face of all difficulties and challenges.

Along with that, the Brigade pays attention to building discipline and training; closely combining training and combat readiness with logistics and technical support, and taking care of the material and spiritual life of soldiers. The application of scientific and technological advances in the management, exploitation and use of technical equipment is promoted, contributing to improving training effectiveness and combat readiness.

The Brigade actively carries out mass mobilization and propaganda work, supports fishermen to go offshore and build a solid "people's heart position" at sea. Through that, the relationship between the army and the people becomes increasingly stronger, the image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers - Navy soldiers" shines brighter and brighter.

Agencies and units in the Brigade continue to promote the achievements, innovate training methods, improve the ability to coordinate operations, and master modern weapons and equipment. With the motto of action "Proactive - Flexible - Effective", the entire Brigade is determined to excellently complete all tasks, become a core and trustworthy force in managing and firmly protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands.

At the forefront of the storm, in the middle of the sea and sky of the Southwest of the Fatherland, the officers and soldiers of Brigade 175 always keep in mind the sacred oath: "As long as there are people, there will be ships, there will be sea and islands". With that spirit, each ship, each shift, each training session is a battlefront, an affirmation of the will, mettle and determination of the marine soldiers.
