Manulife Vietnam holds nearly 62 million MBBank shares

MBBank has just updated 2 more shareholders holding more than 1% of capital at this bank. Among them is Manulife Vietnam Company Limited.

In the list of shareholders owning 1% of MBBank's capital updated on March 18, two new shareholders appeared.

Of which, UBS AG London Branch holds nearly 130 million MBB shares, equivalent to 2.13% of this bank's capital.

The second shareholder on the list is Manulife (Vietnam) Company Limited with more than 61.67 million shares, equivalent to 1.01% of capital. Manulife's related person also holds more than 2 million MBB shares, equivalent to 0.03% of the bank's capital.

Manulife Vietnam is a company operating in the insurance sector, 100% foreign invested capital. In terms of business performance, in the first 6 months of 2024, Manulife Vietnam recorded insurance premium revenue of VND 8,665 billion, down nearly 25% over the same period last year.

This "big guy's" after-tax profit after half a year also decreased by 13%, to 1,699 billion VND.

Also in the 2024 semi-annual financial report, Manulife Vietnam said it had invested more than VND 10,406 billion in stocks, of which listed stocks accounted for VND 10,406 billion.

In addition, the company also invested more than VND1,352 billion in corporate bonds, along with short-term deposits of more than VND24,261 billion. Manulife Vietnam also participated in buying fund certificates, government bonds and other investments...

As for MBBank, this bank has announced the list of shareholders holding more than 1% of capital updated to October last year.

According to the list, Prudential Vietnam Life Insurance Company Limited holds more than 65.7 million MBB shares, equivalent to 1.24% of this bank's capital.

In addition, MBBank also has other shareholders such as: Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (14.7%); Saigon Newport Corporation (7.09% of capital); Vietnam Helicopter Corporation (8.43%); State Capital Investment Corporation SCIC (9.83%)...
