The North will receive increased cold air. From October 27, the plains and coastal areas of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing moderate to heavy rain. The weather will be cold at night and early morning. In mountainous areas, the weather will be chilly, with the lowest temperature being 14 degrees Celsius.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on October 26-27, a cold air mass will strengthen in the North.
Due to the influence of this cold air mass along with the impact of storm No. 6 (storm Tra Mi), the North and Central regions will have rain.
Specifically, the North and Thanh Hoa - Nghe An region will have no rain at night, some places will have fog in the early morning, and sunny during the day; in the plains and coastal areas of the North, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An from October 27, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places; cold at night and early morning, and chilly in mountainous areas.
Also from October 27, temperatures across the region decreased, with temperatures in some provinces and cities in the Northeast and the Northern Delta decreasing most significantly.
In particular, the highest temperature on October 26 in Hanoi was still around 30-32 degrees; Cao Bang and Lang Son were 29-30 degrees. From October 27, due to the addition of cold air combined with the influence of storm No. 6, the highest temperature in Hanoi dropped by 4-5 degrees, noon and afternoon were only 25-26 degrees, early morning was also around 20 degrees or lower, the weather was cool, humidity increased.
In coastal provinces and cities such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, the weather can be cold all day. In particular, the northern border provinces that often receive the coldest air such as Lang Son, the highest temperature is 25 degrees and the lowest is 16 degrees, by October 28 it will drop further to 14 degrees.
According to meteorological experts, this weather condition in the North is likely to last for 2 days, then when storm No. 6 weakens, the weather in the Northeast and the Northern Delta will be dry again, with cold mornings (mountainous areas may be cold) and warm sunny days.
In addition, the meteorological agency also forecasts that around the beginning of November, another cold air mass will move down to the North, making it cold at night and in the morning.
Storm No. 6 impacts, Central region begins to have heavy rain
This afternoon (October 26), the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that due to the influence of storm No. 6 (storm Tra Mi), there has been rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places in the area from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh.
From this evening and tonight until October 28, in the area from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai, there will be heavy to very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall from 200-450mm, locally over 600mm; in the Northern Central Highlands, there will be heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 100-200mm, locally over 300mm.
Warning of risk of local heavy rain (>100mm/3h). Ha Tinh and Binh Dinh areas have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 80-160mm, some places over 200mm.
On the night of October 28 and the morning of October 29, in the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang, there will continue to be moderate to heavy rain, and locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 30-60mm, locally over 120mm.
On October 29-30 and the period from November 2-5, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will still have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain.
Heavy rain and localized heavy rain are likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
In addition, other areas will have scattered showers and thunderstorms; in the Southern Central Highlands and the South, on the evening of October 27, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places experiencing heavy rain; from October 29 to 31, in the late afternoon and evening, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms.
