Storm No. 10 Bualoi strengthens in the East Sea, Hai Phong has heavy rain

At 4:00 a.m. on September 27, the center of the storm was at about 14.0 degrees North latitude; 116.6 degrees East longitude, about 580km East Southeast of Hoang Sa special zone.

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 11-12 (103 - 133km/h), gusting to level 15. Moving in the West Northwest direction at a speed of 35-40km/h.

This is a very fast moving storm (nearly twice the average speed), with strong storm intensity and wide range of influence, which can cause combined impacts of many types of natural disasters such as strong winds, heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides and coastal flooding.

Forecast for the northern sea area of the North East Sea is strong winds of level 8-9, then increasing to level 10-14, the area near the center of the super storm is level 15-17, gusts above level 17, waves over 10.0 m high; rough seas.

From September 24, the eastern sea of the Gulf of Tonkin will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, gusting to level 9. From the evening and night of September 24, the Gulf of Tonkin area (including Van Don and Co To special zones) will have winds gradually increasing to level 8-9, waves 2.0-4.0m high, the area near the storm's center will have winds of level 10-12, gusting to level 14, waves 4.0-6.0m high; the sea will be very rough.

Storm surge in coastal areas in the coastal areas of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong provinces has storm surge height of 0.5-1.0m. High risk of landslides, sea dykes, destruction of aquaculture areas, ships and boats anchored along the coast due to strong winds, rising sea levels and big waves.

On land, from early morning of September 25, coastal areas from Quang Ninh to Thanh Hoa have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, then increasing to level 8, areas near the storm center have winds of level 9-10, gusting to level 12; areas deep inland in the Northeast have strong winds of level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9.

Impact on Hai Phong area:
From September 24, the sea area of Bach Long Vi special economic zone will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, gusting to level 9.

From the evening and night of September 24, the sea area of Bach Long Vi special economic zone, the sea area of Cat Hai - Lan Ha bay, the sea area of Hon Dau island will have winds gradually increasing to level 8-9, waves 2.0-4.0m high, the area near the storm center will have winds of level 10-12, gusts of level 14, waves 4.0-6.0m high; the sea will be very rough.

From early morning on September 25, coastal waters of Hai An Ward, Dong Hai Ward, Nam Trieu Ward, Do Son Ward, Nam Do Son Ward, Duong Kinh Ward, Chan Hung Commune, Hung Thang Commune, Kien Hai Commune had winds gradually increasing to level 6-7, then increasing to level 8, near the storm center level 9-10, gusting to level 12.

On land, from early morning on September 25, communes/wards located deep inland of Hai Phong city have strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8-9.
Forecasts of strong wind impacts warn that all vessels, anchorages, aquaculture areas, sea dykes and other activities in the above sea areas are at very high risk of being affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.

From September 28 to September 30, Hai Phong is likely to experience widespread heavy rain.

Bach Long Vy special economic zone, Cat Hai-Lan Ha bay special economic zone, Hon Dau island sea area, Nam Do Son ward, Do Son ward, with common rainfall from 100-200mm, locally over 250mm.

Inland areas: (forecast locations: Thuy Nguyen, Le Chan, Hai An, Duong Kinh, An Duong, An Lao, Kien An, Tien Lang, Vinh Bao) with common rainfall of 150-200mm, locally over 200mm. (Forecast locations: Hai Duong , Chi Linh, Thanh Ha, Kim Thanh, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Cam Giang, Kinh Mon and Tu Ky) with common rainfall of 100-150mm, locally over 200mm (Details in Appendix 2).

Due to the influence of the wide storm circulation, it is necessary to take precautions against the risk of thunderstorms, tornadoes and strong gusts of wind both before and during the storm's landfall.
