Free transport of relief goods by train

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 11 and its circulation causing serious damage in many northern provinces and cities, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) has deployed free transportation of relief goods to people in affected areas.

The work of receiving and unloading goods is organized at qualified terminal stations on the national railway network such as: Saigon, Song Than, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong... Relief goods will be transported to Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.

"This activity aims to demonstrate the sense of responsibility and solidarity of the railway industry with people in disaster-hit areas, contributing to the whole country in overcoming the consequences of the storm," said a representative of Vietnam Railways Corporation , and at the same time requested agencies, organizations and localities to closely coordinate in receiving, loading and distributing goods, in order to provide timely support to people in storm and flood-hit areas.

Regarding the receiving point, Vietnam Railways Corporation will receive and transport free of charge relief goods from organizations and individuals through the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and centrally-run cities, to ensure relief goods are transported smoothly, promptly and safely to people in disaster areas.

Vietnam Railways Corporation recommends that organizations and individuals contact the People's Committees, Fatherland Fronts and Red Cross Societies of provinces and cities for specific instructions on procedures for receiving and sending relief goods.
