Opening the third bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir

On August 5, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Official Dispatch No. 5637/CD-BNN-DD on opening the third bottom spillway gate of Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir; in which, Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir will open the third bottom spillway gate at 10:00 a.m. on August 5, 2024.

In order to proactively take response measures to minimize possible human and property damage downstream due to flood discharge from Hoa Binh reservoir, the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue issued Document No. 37/BCH-VPTT on ensuring downstream safety when Hoa Binh Hydropower Reservoir discharges flood. It requested the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thanh Son, Thanh Thuy, Tam Nong, Lam Thao districts and Viet Tri City, the Department of Transport, the State-owned One Member Co., Ltd. for Phu Tho Irrigation Works, Ao Vua Joint Stock Company to direct the authorities of communes, wards, towns, relevant organizations and individuals to strictly comply with the requirements of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in Document No. 34/BCH-VPTT dated August 2, 2024 on ensuring downstream safety when Hoa Binh and Tuyen Quang hydropower reservoirs discharge flood.
