Hop Kim Commune exploits potential and advantages for sustainable development

Composed of 3 units Kim Lap, Sao Bay and Nam Thuong, Hop Kim has the advantage of Highway 12B passing through, convenient for trade and connection with localities. The Party Committee and the communal government are creating all conditions, encouraging economic sectors to invest in exploiting the diverse potential of the land, contributing to promoting the National Target Program on new rural construction.

In Hop Kim commune, there is Serena Resort Kim Boi - one of the high-quality resorts in the North. The potential of the wild and beautiful natural landscape, the poetic Boi River flowing through is being promoted, creating a sightseeing stop for many tourists. Along with that, in some hamlets, camping and resort services are being developed, mainly attracting visitors in the summer and on weekends.

Tourism activities have created jobs for hundreds of workers. In the period of 2020 - 2025, the destination attracted over 300,000 domestic and international visitors to visit and relax. The commune strengthened land management, protected environmental resources; promoted propaganda and mobilized people to preserve and promote national cultural values, actively participated in keeping the landscape green, clean and beautiful in public areas and residential areas, and well implemented the village covenants on environmental protection associated with new rural construction, serving tourism development.

The whole commune currently has 351 business households, 2 concrete brick production facilities, 5 wood processing facilities, civil furniture, 12 cooperatives and 1 tourism business enterprise. Up to now, the commune has 5 investment projects in the fields of garment, agricultural processing, resort services... Tourism promotion, investment in traffic infrastructure of historical sites, scenic spots, and supporting cultural works are of interest. The commune sets a goal for the 2025-2030 term to build tourism into a spearhead economic sector, promote socio-economic development in the direction of services, tourism and clean agricultural production, organic agriculture.

In addition to the growing tourism and service industries, Hop Kim is also a rural area with quite fertile land with thousands of hectares of alluvial soil and rice fields along the banks of the Boi River. In recent years, people in villages and hamlets have focused on restructuring, investing in intensive cultivation, applying scientific and technological advances in production. In some villages and hamlets such as: Doi 3, Sao, Men Boi..., specialized commodity cultivation areas have been formed with a variety of short-term crops such as: Cucumber, bitter melon, pumpkin, peanuts, green squash..., with an average income of 200 - 400 million VND/ha. The total cultivated area is estimated to be 2,500 hectares by the end of 2025, reaching 101% of the plan.

In the area, there are many livestock models that bring high economic efficiency, such as: Fattening cows and goats; improving the quality of cows; using biological bedding in livestock farming.... The total herd of cattle and poultry is maintained at over 160,000 heads. The disease situation in livestock farming is basically under control.

People of Hop Kim commune are interested in enjoying preferential credit policies to develop agriculture and rural areas.

Accompanying people in production development, contributing to the effective implementation of sustainable poverty reduction, associated with new rural construction, local authorities have actively propagated, mobilized, and created all conditions for people to access policies and guidelines. Specifically, policies on loans for agricultural and rural development, job creation, preferential credit... Up to now, the total outstanding loans of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development have reached over 207 billion VND with nearly 1,500 borrowers, maintaining 24 loan groups. The total outstanding loans of the Bank for Social Policies have reached over 111.5 billion VND with over 2,200 customers with outstanding loans, maintaining 55 savings and loan groups.

Comrade Dinh Thanh Tung, Chairman of Hop Kim Commune People's Committee shared: Along with the directions and tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term, the local Party Committee, government and people have maximized the strength of culture and people to become endogenous resources, taking advantage of all advantages and opportunities to develop rapidly, synchronously and ensure sustainability, improve and enhance people's lives comprehensively. The commune strives to build a green agriculture, adapt to climate change, maintain a commune that meets new rural standards, has 3 - 5 model residential areas with modern infrastructure, reasonable economic and labor structures, and effective forms of production organization. For tourism activities, continue to review, adjust and supplement the planning of tourist areas and spots as a basis for attracting investment, in which priority is given to projects with high-quality, unique and different tourism products to build the image and brand of tourism, and enhance the attractiveness of tourists.
