On cold nights, people of Nghe An lit fires and gathered together to welcome the New Year of the Snake with peace and happiness.
In rural areas such as Yen Thanh, Do Luong, Thanh Chuong, Tan Ky districts... 1-2 days ago, people gathered huge piles of firewood to prepare for a fire on New Year's Eve, to dispel the cold. This is also an activity to help strengthen the relationship between neighbors.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Thao (Ma Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district) shared: “Every year, at the time of New Year's Eve, people in the village gather at the intersections and inter-family groups to light a fire. Everyone gathers together, turns on music, dances, raises glasses of wine to celebrate, and welcomes a new year filled with luck, happiness and success.”
Da Nang people gather along the Han River
Currently, the weather in Da Nang City is cold, many people prepare beautiful clothes, flock to the spring flower decoration spots along the Han River to stroll and take souvenir photos. Others go to cafes, restaurants, meet friends, chat about the end of the year and plans for the new year.
At the Dragon Bridge on Bach Dang Street (Hai Chau District), the spring flower spot also attracts many people to come and sightsee and take pictures.
Ms. Phuong Dung (living in Hai Chau district) and her family arrived early at the flower street to welcome the New Year. Tonight, her family went out to eat together and planned to find a good spot to watch the fireworks.
"In the New Year, I wish my family good health, success in work and good luck," Dung shared.
The flower street area attracts many international tourists. Mr. Luu Minh (a tourist from Taiwan, China) said that Da Nang has a snake mascot and very beautiful decorations. Mr. Minh's family took many photos during this trip.
This year, Da Nang will organize fireworks displays at 3 locations in Hai Chau, Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts.
Previously, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh visited and encouraged the forces on duty on New Year's Eve.
Visiting the Da Nang City Police Command Information Center, 911 force and 8394 force, the Chairman of Da Nang said that last year, the city's socio-economic development achievements had great contributions from the police force. The city police had solved many major cases and had good models.
"During the Tet holiday, the city will welcome a large number of tourists. The city police need to mobilize maximum force to ensure the safety of residents and tourists," Mr. Chinh suggested.
