One morning on Cai Tau River, Ca Mau
The most lively river scene is in the early morning. Before dawn, couples can be seen rowing small boats to remove square nets, a very popular form of fishing in the West.
The nets are cast the night before, then lifted up and harvested the next day. This fishing profession is exactly like the Southern saying “play for fun, eat for real”. Boats loaded with rice, paddy, and household goods come from all directions and gather at the market located at the intersection of waterways. The sound of boats exploding creates a unique harmony of the river region.
For visitors coming to Ca Mau for the first time, they should not miss the chance to visit by boat. There are not many fruit gardens here like in Tien Giang and Hau Giang, but there are shrimp farms, crab and fish ponds of many kinds.

Pulling the boat to shore, choosing any small restaurant, anywhere guests can enjoy fresh, delicious local products in the Southern sunlight. Sharing a common source to the ocean, the Ca Mau water streams are likened to hundreds, thousands of blood vessels in the body, never resting to nourish this fertile land. Source
