After a dramatic 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the quarter-finals, MU continued to receive good news with an "easy" draw in the semi-finals. The Red Devils will face lower-ranked opponents Coventry, while Man City will battle Chelsea.
In this season's FA Cup, Coventry had a fairly favorable schedule before surprisingly defeating Wolves 3-2 in the quarter-finals. However, the English First Division team was rated much lower than MU.
If the MU vs Coventry match had a very different balance of power, the remaining semi-final match between Man City and Chelsea is considered the “early final” of this season’s FA Cup. Chelsea, despite their decline, has always been difficult in big matches, having drawn Man City 4-4 and 1-1 in the Premier League this season.
Chelsea are on the verge of reaching their second final this season, after finishing as runners-up in the League Cup. In the FA Cup quarter-finals, the Blues won 4-2 against Leicester.
Man City are the reigning FA Cup champions and continued their title defence with a 2-0 win over Newcastle. If Pep Guardiola's men overcome Chelsea and Man United beat Coventry, the two Manchester clubs will have a repeat of last season's final.
According to the plan, the 2023/2024 FA Cup semi-finals will take place on April 20 and 21 at Wembley Stadium. The specific match schedule will be announced later by the organizers.
