Innovation in the way of doing things
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations To Van Dan said that the People's foreign affairs work in the area has always received the attention, leadership, and unified management of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. Peace , solidarity, friendship and people's cooperation activities are maintained regularly in many rich and meaningful forms. The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and its member friendship associations proactively sent congratulatory letters on the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and other countries, expressing friendship, respect and the desire to strengthen cooperation.
Mobilizing aid from foreign non -governmental organizations and domestic organizations and individuals has been effectively implemented, contributing to solving many urgent local problems. In the first 9 months of 2025, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations mobilized and disbursed more than 7.6 billion VND, reaching 63% of the annual plan. In addition, member friendship associations also recorded support of more than 15.5 billion VND for social security activities, helping to improve people's lives. Mr. To Van Dan emphasized: "The reception, management and use of aid sources are always carried out strictly, in accordance with regulations and in accordance with the objectives of the programs and projects."
Strengthening foreign propaganda
A highlight in the activities of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations is the foreign information work. The electronic information page of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations is maintained and updated regularly with nearly 250 news and articles posted in the first 9 months of 2025, vividly reflecting international exchange and cooperation activities. The column "People's Foreign Affairs" on An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television is broadcast monthly, bringing in-depth stories and reports, contributing to spreading the image of a friendly and hospitable An Giang. The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations is preparing to publish 200 copies of the special issue "Friendship and Cooperation" No. 1 in 2025 to record and introduce the outstanding results of people's foreign affairs work in the past year.
In the coming time, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations will continue to maintain foreign reception activities, send congratulatory letters to the Consulates General in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of major holidays. At the same time, strengthen cooperation with foreign diplomatic representative agencies to promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation. The Union also focuses on accelerating the disbursement of committed aid, striving to complete and exceed the annual plan targets; coordinate with localities to deploy the counterpart part to inaugurate and hand over the works for early use. At the same time, continue to survey the actual needs of the people, develop practical and feasible project proposals to call for funding from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals.
In addition, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations coordinates with agencies and member friendship associations to grasp information about overseas Vietnamese returning to their homeland on the occasion of Lunar New Year to advise on organizing a meeting of overseas Vietnamese to celebrate the Spring of Binh Ngo in 2026. This is an opportunity to connect feelings, listen to the thoughts and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese, create conditions for them to contribute their intelligence and resources to the development of the province, and at the same time continue to promote the image of a dynamic and friendly An Giang to international friends.
