Netflix is considering launching a completely free, ad-supported service in some markets in Europe and Asia, according to Bloomberg, a move aimed at expanding its customer base and increasing revenue, especially in regions where the potential for new user growth is high.
Netflix considers offering free movie packages

This is not the first time Netflix has tested an ad-supported free model. Previously, in 2021, the company tested a similar service package in Kenya, but stopped in October 2023.
Netflix now has a "Standard with Ads" plan for $6.99/month, which offers Full HD resolution and allows viewing on two devices at the same time, an ideal option for small families or individual users. This plan comes after Netflix removed its cheapest ad-free plan in July 2023, causing a lot of controversy in the user community.
The rollout of a free ad-supported plan is seen as a strategic move by Netflix to attract new users, especially those who cannot afford paid subscriptions. However, questions remain about whether this model will be successful and whether ads will affect users' viewing experience.
Netflix is also testing a number of other changes, including a new home page interface, aimed at improving the user experience and increasing content discoverability on the platform.
