For about 2 weeks now, the movie “Red Rain” has not cooled down among the youth of Thai Nguyen. At cinemas in the province, the number of young people coming to see this movie has increased to a record, especially on the occasion of National Day September 2. “Red Rain” is currently considered one of the 3 highest-grossing movies in the history of Vietnam.

Explaining the appeal of the film, Le Khanh Nhat, 20 years old, group 31, Phan Dinh Phung ward shared: What attracted us most was that the film recreated what is considered to be quite realistic scenes of war, of pain and loss, so that today's youth can see that in victory there are many sacrifices. Through the film, we see in it an image of the Vietnamese Fatherland with passionately patriotic people, determined to fight for the independence and freedom of the country.

In fact, the factor that creates the attraction of Vietnamese films to young people is the content exploited from very unique angles, especially the topics of war, culture, and Vietnamese history. All are recreated in a realistic and vivid way, bringing new experiences to young audiences.

Many films convince viewers because of their close content, reflecting real life. Among them, there are films that exploit stories revolving around the lives, emotions, and psychology of young people, creating empathy and connection. For example, the film Mai, directed by Tran Thanh, premiered in early 2024. The film revolves around the character Mai, a girl born into an unhappy family, who has experienced a tragedy that could not be more terrible. The details in the film are very real and very human, which is the highlight that attracts young audiences.

One of the factors that makes Vietnamese films attractive to young people is that producers have consciously invested in images and techniques through the application of digital technology to digital film studios. This is one of the "salvations" that helps Vietnamese cinema create vivid and attractive war, cultural and historical scenes, no less than famous films in the world.

In particular, the cast with their innocent, playful acting and optimistic spirit also scored points with viewers and created their own unique impressions.

For example, the character Ta (played by Phuong Nam, born in 1993) - in the movie "Red Rain" - the eldest brother who reassures his teammates' spirit. Ta is the "spiritual pillar" of Squad 1, an indispensable piece in the fierce battlefield situation of the movie. He impresses with many realistic, close, witty but meaningful lines such as: "My squad includes North, Central, South, the whole country in battle", "As many as there are left, we will fight, what are we afraid of"...

In some films, whether tragic or romantic, there are also elements of comedy, spirituality, and romantic scenes that attract young audiences. In particular, the fierce competition of the film market requires producers to research, innovate, and create works with special appeal. This has contributed to bringing Vietnamese films closer to young people in Thai Nguyen in particular and young people across the country in general. This fact affirms that Vietnamese films have created an attraction and continue to have a strong impact on moviegoers and young people today.
