Neuer harshly criticized goalkeeper Donnarumma

Veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) has publicly strongly criticized Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG) after a collision with Jamal Musiala in the quarter-final match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the early morning of July 6.

After the match, Neuer was extremely angry and did not hesitate to criticize goalkeeper Donnarumma: “That was a situation that did not need to be tackled like that! That decision was really careless. Donnarumma took the risk and injured his opponent.”

The German goalkeeper also revealed that he directly met Donnarumma after the match ended: "Didn't he want to visit our players? It's a matter of respect. Donnarumma did it after all. Fair play is always important. I would have reacted differently if Donnarumma had made a different decision."

After this fateful move, Donnarumma was also in deep shock and sat on the field holding his face. His teammates had to come to console him so that the Italian goalkeeper could continue to complete the match.

On his personal page, Donnarumma also sent a prayer to Musiala: "I want to pray to wish you the best, Jamal Musiala".

Max Eberl, Bayern's CEO, also could not hide his anger and criticized Donnarumma: "When a goalkeeper weighing 100 kg collides with his (Musiala's) legs while sprinting, there is a high risk that something will happen. I don't think Gianluigi did it on purpose, but he was also not conscious of his actions."

Bayern Munich were eliminated from the tournament in the quarter-finals after a 2-0 defeat to PSG with goals from Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue. Now, what Bayern fans are most concerned about is how serious Musiala's injury is and whether he can return to the field soon.
