According to the report of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, after one month of selling train tickets for the Lunar New Year 2026, by the end of October 20, the Railway industry had sold 64,200 tickets.
Accordingly, the Binh Ngo Tet 2026 transportation takes place from February 3 to March 8, 2026 (ie from December 16, At Ty year to January 20, Binh Ngo year), the Railway industry organizes the operation of 55 trains, with a total of over 800 carriages, providing about 330,000 tickets for passengers to travel throughout.
Before Tet, from February 3-9, 2026 (before December 23) and from February 14-16, 2026 (from December 27-29), there are still train tickets available to all stations.
During peak days from February 10-14, 2026 (from December 23-27, At Ty year), the total number of remaining tickets on all trains is about 2,500 seats.
Specifically, there are 1,045 train tickets left for the train departing from Saigon/Di An/Bien Hoa to Vinh/ Hanoi stations on February 10, 2026 (ie December 23), going to all stations.
On February 11 (December 24), there are 199 tickets left, mostly soft seats, ending at Vinh station. On February 12 (December 25), there are 121 tickets left; on February 13 (December 26), there are 175 tickets left, mostly soft seats, ending at Vinh station. On February 14, 2026 (December 27), there are 1,044 tickets left, going to all stations.
Passengers buying long-distance tickets (10 days or more) with a distance of over 900km will receive a discount of 5-15% for odd-numbered trains before Tet (from February 3-17, 2026) and even-numbered trains after Tet (from February 21-March 8, 2026).
3% discount on ticket prices for customers buying tickets for Thong Nhat trains departing from Saigon station on February 15, 2026 (December 28) and traveling 1,000km or more.
Discount from 2-12% on ticket price for customers buying group tickets of 11 people or more; depending on quantity, time of ticket purchase and schedule, there are different discounts.
5% discount on return ticket price for passengers buying round-trip tickets; 10-20% discount on ticket price for students of Universities, Academies, Colleges, Professional High Schools and Vocational Schools.
The Railway Industry also applies a 30% discount on the ticket price printed on the Train Pass for tickets traveling on peak days. Other days still apply the ticket exchange/return fee according to regulations (individual tickets must be exchanged/returned 24 hours or more before the train departure time printed on the ticket. Group tickets must be exchanged/returned 48 hours or more before the train departure time printed on the ticket).
In addition, the Railway industry has opened ticket sales for Thong Nhat trains that run regularly during the 2026 New Year holiday as follows: Trains SE1/SE2, SE3/SE4, SE5/SE6, SE7/SE8 (Saigon-Hanoi), train SE21/SE22 (Saigon- Da Nang ), train SNT1/SNT2 (Saigon-Nha Trang), train SPT1/SPT2 (Saigon-Phan Thiet). When passenger demand increases, the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will organize additional trains and add more cars to best serve customer demand./.
