Recalling the time more than 2 years ago, according to Minister Thang: on the first day at the Ministry, the work was still quite messy: The North-South Expressway project in the East, phase 1, had only reached 50% of the volume. Many projects were at risk of breaking progress and being stuck with site clearance.
However, with unanimous efforts, over the past time, the transport sector has made efforts to bring more than 800 km of expressway to the finish line. Thousands of km of expressway continue to be started. The North-South Expressway in the East, phase 1 has reached the finish line, the project phase 2 has started construction of all 12 component projects.

The inspection sector has gradually overcome its shortcomings and difficulties; the Road Traffic Law has removed bottlenecks for ministries and localities, and promoted decentralization.
"The most impressive thing is the enthusiasm and high sense of responsibility of the staff and workers of the agencies under the Ministry. The image of offices always lit up late at night, working diligently to meet the project's schedule has become familiar to me.
On the construction site, we see the image of engineers and workers working tirelessly, without rest, through the sun and rain. That effort has produced very proud results," Minister Thang shared.
Recognizing that the workload of the transport sector is still very large, the immediate goal is to complete 3,000 km of expressway by 2025; Prepare to invest in starting construction of 3 national railway lines; The High Speed Rail Project has just been approved by the National Assembly with a very high rate, has a super large scale and great challenges, however, Minister Nguyen Van Thang believes that with his experience and capacity, especially the advantage of coming from the armed forces with determination and clarity, the new Minister Tran Hong Minh will work with the collective leadership, executive board, cadres and workers of the whole sector to overcome challenges, complete the political tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.

Great joy to return to the construction profession

"Personally, after many years of growing up at school, continuing to hold many positions in the military and local environments, every step I take has received the trust and love of my comrades, teammates, and colleagues.
During my years as an engineer, I directly participated in directing the implementation of thousands of important infrastructure projects such as: Truong Son Road, border patrol road, projects on large islands. Until I returned to Cao Bang - the place I consider my second homeland, I thought that I had stopped being attached to the construction profession, but now I have returned to "cement concrete", to bridges and roads, to the field that I have been attached to for a very long time. The joy is great.
In my new position, I will work with the leadership, the Ministry of Transport's executive board and the entire industry to overcome difficulties, making the industry strong and even stronger," said Minister Tran Hong Minh.
