Hai Phong health sector aims for patient satisfaction

In the period of 2020 - 2025, Hai Phong health sector implemented many practical emulation movements towards patient satisfaction.

Outstanding among the emulation movements is the movement to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, aiming at patient satisfaction, achieving many positive results and becoming a bright spot in the medical work of the Northern Coastal region.

Hospital Upgrade

Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital is a grade 1 hospital at the city level, striving to become a specialized general hospital in the Northern Coastal region. Responding to the emulation movement to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, aiming at patient satisfaction, with the attention and investment of the city and the health sector, the hospital has gradually expanded its scale and improved its infrastructure system, meeting the health care needs of the people.

Dr. Do Manh Thang, Director of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, said that the hospital's leaders directed each department, each room, each group and individual to compete to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment services, as a criterion for year-end competition evaluation. In fact, many high-tech systems have been put into operation by the hospital, contributing to improving the effectiveness of comprehensive medical examination and treatment. Medical staff and employees continuously register and are sent to study at major medical centers in the country and abroad to improve.

Meanwhile, Hai Duong General Hospital plays an important role in medical examination and treatment for people in the West Hai Phong area and neighboring areas. The hospital has made breakthroughs in many professional activities with the motto "All for the maximum benefit of patients". Up to now, the hospital has signed comprehensive cooperation agreements with Central hospitals, such as: Central Tropical Diseases, Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Central Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital... Dozens of techniques transferred by upper-level hospitals are being routinely performed by Hai Duong General Hospital, keeping up with the trend, gradually improving the quality of medical examination and treatment services, contributing to reducing the number of patients transferred to upper-level hospitals...

Never stop trying

Implementing Decree No. 60/202 of the Government, all 63 public service units under the Hai Phong Department of Health (after the merger) follow the financial autonomy mechanism, including: 4 autonomous units of group 1 (self-guaranteeing regular and investment expenses), 9 autonomous units of group 2 (self-guaranteeing regular expenses), 38 autonomous units of group 3 (partially self-guaranteeing regular expenses) and 12 autonomous units of group 4 (the state guarantees regular expenses).

To meet the health care needs of the people in the process of implementing the autonomy roadmap, the requirement is that medical facilities must be proactive in investing in modern equipment, implementing specialized activities, connecting with central hospitals to transfer advanced techniques in medical examination and treatment. This requirement is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity to promote the emulation movement to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment, aiming at patient satisfaction at medical facilities. Up to now, city-level hospitals have deployed 60-70% of the technical list approved by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health. Of which, some hospitals have implemented 80-85% of the list, with 10-15% of special techniques. Currently, 100% of hospitals and medical centers in the area have deployed hospital management software, effectively serving the management, operation and implementation of professional tasks.

Currently, the city is building and completing the Project "Improving the capacity of the Hai Phong city health system to implement Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a breakthrough solution to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health". To contribute to the completion of this project, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Hung requested that one of the contents that the health sector needs to focus on continuing to research is to build a group of breakthrough solutions applying science and technology to health care and treatment for people... This is an opportunity and motivation for the city's health sector to compete and make further breakthroughs in improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, towards patient satisfaction.
