The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just signed Decision No. 3133/QD-UBND on allocating and assigning additional budget expenditure estimates with an amount of more than 30.6 billion VND from the education - training and vocational training career expenditure source to support funding for extra teaching and learning in the 2024 - 2025 school year.

Accordingly, Nghe An province spent more than 16 billion VND to support the organization of high school graduation exam review for the 2024-2025 school year for 85 high schools, vocational education and continuing education centers (including Vinh University High School for the Gifted and Nghe An Sports High School). Previously, from the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year, implementing Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning, schools in Nghe An province stopped offering extra teaching with fees to students in schools. Instead, schools mobilized teachers, based on voluntary registration, to teach free extra classes to students in 3 groups: tutoring for students who have not achieved, nurturing excellent students and reviewing for final year exams.

According to the Department of Education and Training, in the past school year, in preparation for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam and the 9th grade to 10th grade entrance exam, nearly 400 secondary and high schools across the province organized free tutoring for students (accounting for 100%). Of which, more than 53,000 9th grade students participated at the secondary level, and more than 38,000 12th grade students participated at the high school level.

To support schools, in April 2025, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training sent a document to public high schools, vocational education and training centers, and the Department of Education and Training of districts, cities, and towns on calculating the number of periods and making estimates of funding for extra teaching and learning for students in grades 9 and 12 for the 2024-2025 school year.

The calculation process must be based on the number of review weeks, number of review classes, number of review periods/class, number of review periods arranged in the labor norms in the payroll and number of extra teaching hours (if any).

After making the budget, the units send it to the Department of Education and Training for consultation and propose to the People's Committee of Nghe An province to support funding for extra teaching and learning.

With the efforts of schools, in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Nghe An Education sector has made remarkable progress when the results reached the top group in the country. In addition, Nghe An ranked 1st in the country in terms of average score in Literature, many other subjects were in the top 10 in the country such as: Chemistry, Physics, Informatics, History, Geography, Agricultural Technology, English.
