Bui Cong Duy (born in 1981 in Hanoi), he is a talented young violinist of Vietnam today. Graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Russia), Bui Cong Duy is the first foreigner to occupy a position in the world- famous Virtuose Moscow String Orchestra.
Bui Cong Duy was once a young talent of Vietnamese music with many major international awards, including First Prize - Gold Medal at the Tchaikovksy International Music Competition for Young Artists in 1997.

Meritorious Artist Bui Cong Duy currently holds a PhD-equivalent degree and has held the position of Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music since 2017. He is the youngest Deputy Director in the nearly 70-year history of this school.
In April 2023, Bui Cong Duy was awarded Honorary Professorship of the Kazakhstan National University of Arts. Kazakhstan's music scene inherited the quintessence of Soviet music, so it is very high-level and unique. This is a great honor for Bui Cong Duy and the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
He and his wife, pianist Trinh Huong (daughter of musician Phu Quang), returned to work in Vietnam when their careers abroad were flourishing. The couple taught at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and performed in major concerts.
In this round of People's Artists, there are also Meritorious Artists Quoc Khanh, Duc Trung and Tran Luc, three veteran male artists in the Vietnamese cinema industry. Along with that, there are artists Ngoc Huyen and "Thi Mau" Thu Huyen, who are also female artists who were awarded during this time.
