The workshop "Impact of Resolution 71-NQ/TW on vocational education " held at Ho Chi Minh City International College on the morning of October 23rd received many contributions and new solutions from experts across the country.
Many good signs
At the conference, Dr. Khong Huu Luc, Head of Training Management Department - Hanoi College of High Technology, announced the good news that his school had completed KPI with more than 4,000 new students enrolled in 46 training majors.
"This is the first time the school has been successful in recruiting, especially in the context of vocational education recruitment being very difficult," said Dr. Luc.

Dr. Khong Huu Luc, Head of Training Management Department - Hanoi College of High Technology, announced good news for the new school year.
According to Dr. Luc, Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo is like a breath of fresh air in vocational education. Students can "study with a salary", receive tuition funding and receive internship allowances. This is not only financial support but also a two-way cooperation model between schools and businesses.
"The school has realized the spirit of "comprehensive digital transformation in vocational education" as specified in Resolution 71. In addition, the school also participated in supporting the "45 days and nights" digital transformation campaign in communes and wards in Hanoi" - Dr. Luc added.
Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Tam, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City International College, said that the school's project to link schools, businesses and associations has reaped many "sweet fruits", proving the effectiveness of the multi-stakeholder cooperation model.
According to statistics, the rate of students having jobs after graduation is nearly 100%, of which, 80-92% are working in the right profession. The number of students doing paid internships is about 67%. The fields that are lacking highly skilled human resources are semiconductors and automation, electricity-electronics, logistics, health care, tourism...
"The quality of vocational education is not measured by credits earned but by the ability to do, do well, and create value. The output must be directly linked to a specific job position. Competency standards must comply with the Vietnam National Skills Standards (VNSQF) and reference ASEAN standards (AQRF)" - Master Tam emphasized.

Improving the quality of vocational education lecturers
At the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tien Dong, Principal of Ly Thai To College (Bac Ninh), affirmed that there will be no high-quality vocational education without high-quality lecturers. When lecturers understand and are proficient in their profession, the application of technology and educational innovation will become natural. "Many vocational schools build close relationships with hundreds of businesses, organize many scientific seminars..., but these steps are still superficial, still focusing on form, not really taking students as the core" - Mr. Dong frankly said.
Sharing the same view, Mr. Le Huy Nam, Director of the Department of Education, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, pointed out the bottlenecks that need to be resolved.
Firstly, there are still differences in quality and management capacity between schools; the teaching staff, although highly skilled, lack practical experience or pedagogical skills, leading to suboptimal communication effectiveness; social prejudice against vocational training is still strong; the connection with businesses is not sustainable, mainly personal.

Mr. Le Huy Nam, Director of the Department of Education, Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, pointed out the bottlenecks that need to be resolved in vocational education.
According to Mr. Nam, Resolution 71 identifies education as one of the national strategic breakthroughs to strongly develop human resources with vocational skills, industrial style, and quick adaptation to the era of digital transformation and green economy.
"The mission of vocational education has been raised to a new level, not simply training to have a job but aiming at the goal of mastering a profession, even creating new professions. This is the golden time for vocational education to create strong breakthroughs" - the Director of the Department of Education affirmed.
