On behalf of the United States Government , US Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent sincere congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.
In a press release issued on September 1, Mr. Rubio said:
"On behalf of the Government of the United States of America, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to the Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of Vietnam National Day.
On this historic occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to further deepening the relationship between our two countries. Together, we will continue to promote peace, prosperity, and security for the American and Vietnamese people, and the entire Indo- Pacific region.
On this special day, I would like to send my warmest wishes to the people of Vietnam. May you have a joyful celebration and a prosperous year ahead."
