Users panic, Facebook error warning, Zalo 'overloaded'

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên05/03/2024

At around 10:15 p.m. on March 5, the most popular social networking platforms currently under Meta, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, encountered errors. Many users through other platforms informed each other about the inaccessibility.

On the popular service outage warning site Downdetector.com, warnings about Facebook service outages have increased sharply since 10pm tonight. The common feature of these warnings is that users are logged in and are taken to the login screen, and when they re-enter their information, they receive a warning that their password is incorrect.

Facebook is having problems globally

TN (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) said that both of his Facebook accounts encountered this phenomenon. However, when logging in and entering the 2-step verification code, he was able to access one account from his smartphone. However, the screen did not load content, and he could not post any information on this platform.

HT (Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City) said she also could not access Facebook and Instagram, so she asked via Zalo and was also informed similarly. She tried to find out by typing in a search and realized that this problem came from Meta.

Many users in Vietnam also use other platforms besides Meta such as Telegram, Zalo, X (Twitter)... to send similar warnings to their friends and relatives. Some Vietnamese users abroad also made similar announcements.

Meta's recently launched social network Threads is also completely down. When opening the app, users are greeted with the message "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again." However, the WhatsApp platform is still working.

Some users also said that Zalo is currently experiencing slow notification of new messages, which leads to suspicion that the number of people who cannot access Facebook has suddenly switched to this OTT platform, causing a local 'congestion'.
