Military aircraft ready to rescue and supply isolated areas due to floods

On October 7, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army sent an urgent dispatch to military agencies and units to proactively respond to heavy rain and floods caused by storm Matmo (storm No. 11).

Accordingly, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army requested units to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the telegrams of the Prime Minister and the General Staff on proactively responding to the risks of rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides due to the impact of storm Matmo (storm No. 11).

The Military Commands of Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 direct the military commands of the provinces and units under their control to proactively coordinate closely with local Party committees and authorities to continue mobilizing forces and means to support the government and people, carefully review each area, residential area, and dyke, promptly detect areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, deep flooding, proactively relocate and urgently evacuate households in low-lying areas, along rivers at high risk of flooding and landslides to safe places...

The Air Defense - Air Force, Corps 18 inspected and reviewed plans, organized forces and vehicles to be ready to conduct search and rescue flights, transport food, provisions... to reach isolated areas and flooded areas when ordered.

The General Departments: Logistics - Engineering, Defense Industry and General Department 2, according to their functions and tasks, strengthen direction, urge, and inspect subordinate units to do a good job of overcoming the consequences of floods, landslides caused by storm No. 11 and its circulation.

Organize inspections and ensure the safety of warehouses, factories, weapons and equipment; ensure good logistics and technical support for disaster response work; proactively coordinate the timely supply and transportation of rescue supplies and equipment to help localities respond and overcome consequences when situations occur.

Corps, arms, Commands: Hanoi capital, 86, ready forces and means to proactively coordinate with local authorities and Party committees where troops are stationed and where they carry out tasks to help localities overcome the consequences of natural disasters when requested.

Viettel Group proactively takes measures to ensure information in areas forecasted to be at high risk of being isolated due to the impact of storms and floods, and coordinates with the Information and Communications Corps to ensure information connection and smooth communication between the central and local levels, and localities affected by storms and floods.

Dispatch forces and vehicles (flycam) to coordinate with Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 4 to support localities in surveying vulnerable areas to promptly detect cracks, areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and areas that are cut off and isolated in order to provide early warning and take timely preventive measures.
