Former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung offers incense to National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc

On the afternoon of October 17, within the framework of the traditional festival commemorating the 157th anniversary of the sacrifice of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc (1868 - 2025), the festival's Organizing Committee held an incense offering ceremony by the Delegation of People, Military and Political Party of An Giang province and delegations from the Central, provinces and cities.

Attending the incense offering ceremony were comrade Nguyen Tan Dung, former Politburo member, former Prime Minister; General Le Hong Anh, former Politburo member, former Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat; member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, branches, armed forces, intellectuals, religious dignitaries, representatives of ethnic groups and relatives of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc from Gia Lai, Tay Ninh and Ca Mau provinces.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegations offered incense to commemorate the great contributions of National Hero Nguyen Trung Truc - an outstanding son of the Vietnamese people, who upheld the spirit of patriotism, loyalty and indomitability in the struggle against foreign invaders with the immortal oath: "When the West has uprooted all the grass in the South, then the South will no longer fight the West."

The most notable new feature of this year's festival is that it is held for the first time after the merger of Kien Giang and An Giang provinces, opening a new phase in preserving and promoting the common heritage values of the Rach Gia - An Giang land.

The organization is large-scale, synchronous and has close coordination between sectors and levels, clearly demonstrating the spirit of unity - connection - development. In addition to traditional rituals, the festival also has many cultural activities, OCOP product display, tourism promotion and art performances to create a vibrant atmosphere, spreading local cultural values to a large number of people and tourists.

This is not only a local festival, but a common festival of all the people of the Mekong Delta, where we express our feelings, beliefs and deep gratitude to our ancestors who sacrificed for the Fatherland.
